Vietnam Automobile, Motorcycle and Bicycle Association (VAMOBA) held the 4th Congress, term 2025-2030
On the afternoon of September 9 in Hanoi , the Vietnam Automobile, Motorcycle and Bicycle Association (VAMOBA) held its 4th Congress for the 2025-2030 term, announcing a new development vision after more than 34 years of establishment and operation.
93% of products are consumed domestically
According to Mr. Pham Cuong, Chairman of VAMOBA, the Association, formerly known as the Vietnam Bicycle and Motorcycle Association, was established in 1991 and is one of the first professional associations in Vietnam. After 34 years, VAMOBA now has more than 230 members, including 30 two-wheeled vehicle manufacturing and assembling enterprises and more than 200 spare parts enterprises, with an average output of nearly 400,000 motorbikes and 1 million bicycles per year, of which 93% are consumed domestically and 7% are exported.
Entering a new phase, VAMOBA aims to become the leading prestigious association in the region, playing the role of a bridge between businesses - State - society.
At the same time, the Association also focuses on 5 pillars: Comprehensive digital transformation by building a digital ecosystem, applying AI, Big Data, IoT, e-commerce; sustainable development - green economy by promoting the production of electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, environmentally friendly vehicles; enhancing international competitiveness by supporting businesses to integrate and promote "Made in Vietnam" to the world.

Focus on developing electric vehicles and charging stations
Along with the green transformation trend, VAMOBA members also focus on developing electric vehicle products as well as charging stations. Accordingly, in 2025, VAMOBA enterprises in cooperation with partners have developed more than 500 charging stations installed in major cities and strive to reach over 2,000 charging stations by 2027, supporting the sustainable development of electric vehicles.
In addition, VAMOBA aims to have 100% of its members have at least one electric vehicle product line by 2027; by 2030, electric vehicles will account for about 40% of total output, while reducing CO2 emissions by 50% compared to 2020; aiming for 100% environmentally friendly products by 2035.
Mr. Nguyen Dong Phong, Director of the Emission Testing Center (Vietnam Register, Ministry of Construction ) noted that the Association needs to consider and continue implementing in the next term, emphasizing green transformation, reducing emissions towards net emissions of "0" by 2050.
At the same time, it is necessary to play an active role in moving towards a green development market, supporting businesses in manufacturing, importing and distributing electric vehicles that meet emission and environmental protection standards.
In particular, coordinate with relevant authorities in developing standards, regulations, and inspection procedures for motorcycles and motorbikes in general and for electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and clean energy vehicles in particular.
