Autumn Fair 2025: Connecting Vietnamese-Chinese business trade

Within the framework of the first Autumn Fair in 2025, on the afternoon of October 27, the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) organized a conference to promote trade, investment and connect Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises.

In his opening remarks at the conference, Mr. Le Hoang Tai emphasized that the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China has reached a new level as they jointly build a "Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future with Strategic Significance".

In the first nine months of 2025, Vietnam's import and export turnover with China reached US$184.04 billion, an increase of 23% compared to the same period in 2024, which is evidence of bilateral economic cooperation.

According to Mr. Le Hoang Tai, trade promotion is the bridge that helps businesses in both countries shorten the gap and turn potential into practical cooperation opportunities. Under the direction of the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Trade Promotion Agency have closely coordinated with many Chinese agencies, especially the Shandong Provincial Committee for International Trade Promotion, to organize a series of trade fairs, exhibitions, and conferences connecting businesses both online and in person.

These efforts not only help Vietnamese businesses expand their partner networks and find outlets for their goods, but also contribute to diversifying export markets and reducing dependence on traditional markets.

The first Autumn Fair in 2025, with over 130,000 m² of exhibition space, 3,000 booths, and 2,500 domestic and international businesses participating, is a national-scale event bringing together all economic sectors, from large and small businesses and cooperatives to international corporations.

"Despite being the first event of its kind, the fair achieved six outstanding results: the largest scale, the most modern space, the most diverse range of products, the highest quality, the most attractive activities, and the best promotional policies," Mr. Le Hoang Tai shared.

Participating in the fair, the Chinese business delegation, with nearly 100 companies and 47 booths, occupied the majority of the international exhibition area, showcasing a diverse range of products, from manufacturing, high technology, and building materials to consumer goods, agricultural products, and handicrafts.

This is an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to directly access sources of supply, technology, machinery, and materials—elements that are crucial for transforming production, improving quality, and reducing input costs. Simultaneously, a series of direct trade conferences are held within the framework of the fair, helping Vietnamese businesses connect with Chinese partners, understand needs, and negotiate cooperation agreements on the spot.

"The Trade Promotion Agency is always ready to accompany and support the business communities of both sides in the cooperation process, promoting agreements and projects to achieve practical and sustainable results," the leader of the Trade Promotion Agency affirmed.

From the Chinese perspective, Mr. Li Zhenmin, Commercial Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, believes that the first Autumn Fair in 2025 is a "substantive trade promotion platform" that will help the two countries strengthen cooperation, especially in the context of the reshaping of regional supply chains.

“China and Vietnam are each other’s top economic and trade partners. In 2024, bilateral trade exceeded $260 billion; and in just nine months of 2025, this figure reached $214.5 billion, an increase of nearly 13% compared to the same period last year,” Mr. Li Zhenmin informed.

According to him, large-scale trade promotion events like the Autumn Fair have helped businesses from both sides take advantage of their geographical proximity, cultural similarities, and high complementarity in production.

“The first Autumn Fair 2025 is a national-level economic and cultural event, opening up an integrated platform for trade, investment, culture and tourism, and innovation. It is a reliable platform for cooperation for investors and trade partners in the region and around the world ,” Mr. Li Zhenmin affirmed.

For Vietnamese businesses, participating in trade fairs offers benefits not only in goods trade but also in technology transfer, investment cooperation in production, and the development of domestic value chains. Areas such as processed agricultural products, supporting industries, green manufacturing, and digital transformation are opening up clear opportunities for cooperation with Chinese businesses, which possess strengths in technology and scale.

Furthermore, through networking activities, conferences, and exhibition booths, Vietnamese businesses have the opportunity to learn about modern promotion models, market approaches, quality standards, and international consumer trends, thereby improving their products, services, and management capabilities to participate more deeply in the regional supply chain.

"The top leaders of both Parties and States attach great importance to effectively utilizing trade promotion activities to expand markets and increase substantive cooperation," Mr. Li Zhenmin emphasized. He also stated that this is a valuable opportunity for businesses from both sides to jointly create sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation projects.

The first Autumn Fair in 2025 takes place in a special context, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, and also marking the Year of Cultural Exchange between the two countries. Therefore, the event not only has commercial significance but also symbolizes friendship, trust, and shared aspirations for development.

The Vietnam-China Trade, Investment Promotion and Business Networking Conference was one of many events organized within the framework of the first Autumn Fair 2025, aiming to create connections and expand cooperation opportunities for domestic and foreign businesses.
