On the afternoon of October 27, in the face of rapidly rising floodwaters, Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee Phan Thien Dinh personally directed the work of moving patients from the rehabilitation hospital to a safe place.
Authorities mobilized personnel and vehicles to move 29 patients from a rehabilitation hospital in a deeply flooded area to safety. Many patients could not contain their emotions as they were taken out of the flooded area.
Present at the patient transfer point, Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thien Dinh encouraged the patients as well as the support forces, and highly appreciated the efforts of the military forces in promptly mobilizing forces and vehicles to support the patients.

Support for people in isolated areas
On October 27, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong inspected the situation, directed the implementation of flood response and evacuation of people in Loc An commune, which has been severely affected by heavy rains that have lasted for many days.
Due to the impact of heavy rains that have lasted from October 25th until now, many areas in Loc An commune have been deeply flooded, and traffic has been severely cut off. According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Loc An commune, 10/29 villages are currently completely isolated, with travel mainly by boat or small canoe. More than 50 roads, tunnels, spillways and markets in the commune are flooded from 1-1.5 meters deep.
Faced with the complicated developments of the flood, the commune government proactively evacuated 193 households with 593 people to safety, including 13 households in Bach Thach village being relocated due to the risk of landslides.
Notably, on the morning of October 27, the authorities used a boat to take a patient in Nam village to a medical facility for timely emergency treatment, and successfully assisted a pregnant woman in giving birth safely in the flood.
Police, militia and medical forces are mobilized to be on duty 24/7 to promptly support people, rescue and ensure traffic safety.

Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong highly appreciated the response work of Loc An commune, and at the same time requested the locality to continue to maintain 24/7 on-duty, paying special attention to monitoring low-lying areas and areas at risk of landslides.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also requested to review and promptly evacuate households still in dangerous areas, not to let people be subjective about the developments of floods. "Local authorities and functional forces are focusing on supporting people in isolated areas, ensuring food, drinking water, medicine, and being ready to respond to complicated situations that may occur in the coming days," Mr. Phan Quy Phuong directed.
