Information on the progress of the execution of the sentence of Mr. Dinh La Thang and Trinh Van Quyet

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of October 27, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Justice for the third quarter of 2025, Deputy Director of the Civil Judgment Enforcement Management Department Tran Thi Phuong Hoa informed about the progress of the execution of 02 cases that have attracted public attention.

Responding to press questions regarding the execution of the judgment against Mr. Dinh La Thang, Deputy Director of the Civil Judgment Execution Management Department Tran Thi Phuong Hoa said that Mr. Dinh La Thang must execute a total amount of more than 830 billion VND.

The difficulty in this case is that Mr. Dinh La Thang's assets are not enough to ensure execution of the judgment.

Through verification by the civil enforcement agency, Mr. Dinh La Thang only has one common property of the couple, which is an apartment, and no other property. The civil enforcement agency has processed to recover more than 4 billion VND.

Deputy Director of the Civil Judgment Enforcement Department Tran Thi Phuong Hoa also said that the Civil Judgment Enforcement Agency will continue to verify and, if there are assets related to Mr. Dinh La Thang, will handle them according to the provisions of law.

Referring to the results of asset recovery in corruption and economic cases, especially cases under the supervision of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negativity, Ms. Phuong Hoa said that in the past 3 years, the results of execution of judgments in corruption and economic cases have continuously increased, each year higher than the previous year.

Specifically, in 2023, the civil enforcement agency recovered and processed more than VND 20,405 billion (an increase of VND 4,415 billion compared to 2022). In 2024, the amount of completed enforcement reached more than VND 22,177 billion (an increase of more than VND 1,771 billion compared to 2023). In 2025, VND 27,416 billion was completed, an increase of over VND 5,239 billion (an increase of 23.62% compared to the same period in 2024).

Regarding the FLC case, Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Director of the Department, said that according to the provisions of Article 53 of the Law on Civil Judgment Enforcement, the litigant has the right to request the enforcement agency to confirm the results of the enforcement. Up to now, the enforcement agency has just received Trinh Van Quyet's request for confirmation of the enforcement amount for the State (separate enforcement decision) and has issued confirmation as requested.

To date, Trinh Van Quyet has completed all personal and joint obligations in the judgment; the Civil Judgment Enforcement Agency is currently carrying out procedures to pay compensation to the judgment beneficiary.
