Responding to press questions regarding the enforcement of judgments against Mr. Dinh La Thang, Deputy Director of the Civil Judgment Enforcement Management Department Tran Thi Phuong Hoa stated that Mr. Dinh La Thang is required to pay a total of over 830 billion VND.
The difficulty in this case is that Mr. Dinh La Thang's assets are currently insufficient to guarantee the enforcement of the judgment.
According to verification by the civil enforcement agency, Mr. Dinh La Thang only owned one joint asset with his wife, an apartment, and no other assets. The civil enforcement agency processed the case to recover more than 4 billion VND.
Deputy Director of the Civil Enforcement Department Tran Thi Phuong Hoa also stated that the Civil Enforcement agency will continue to verify and, if any assets related to Mr. Dinh La Thang are found, they will be handled according to the law.
Referring to the results of asset recovery in corruption and economic cases, especially those under the supervision of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negative Phenomena, Ms. Phuong Hoa stated that in the past three years, the results of enforcement in corruption and economic cases have continuously increased, with each year surpassing the previous one.
Specifically, in 2023, civil enforcement agencies recovered and processed over 20,405 billion VND (an increase of 4,415 billion VND compared to 2022). In 2024, the amount recovered reached over 22,177 billion VND (an increase of over 1,771 billion VND compared to 2023). In 2025, the amount recovered is expected to reach 27,416 billion VND, an increase of over 5,239 billion VND (a 23.62% increase compared to the same period in 2024).
Regarding the FLC case, the Deputy Director of the Enforcement Department stated that, according to Article 53 of the Law on Civil Judgment Enforcement, the parties involved have the right to request the enforcement agency to confirm the results of the judgment enforcement. To date, the enforcement agency has only received Trinh Van Quyet's request for confirmation regarding the amount enforced for the State (a separate judgment enforcement decision) and has issued the confirmation as requested.
To date, Trinh Van Quyet has fulfilled all his personal and joint obligations under the judgment; the compensation is currently being processed by the Civil Enforcement Agency for payment to the person entitled to the judgment.
