As an annual award organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with VCCorp Joint Stock Company, the Community Action Award has become a prestigious national award honoring individuals, organizations, and businesses that are persistently creating positive value for society through community initiatives and projects with long-lasting impact.
With the theme "Perseverance in Service," the 2025 competition received 160 entries, an increase from 138 projects in 2024. Entries came from businesses, social organizations, volunteer groups, and individuals across the country, spanning various fields: nature conservation, sustainable livelihood development, education , healthcare, equal opportunity, welfare for vulnerable groups, honoring history, preserving cultural identity, and green transformation in production and business.

Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association , and Head of the Award Organizing Committee - emphasized: "What makes actions for the community powerful is not a moment of brilliance, but persistent steps, repeated every day."
The highlight of the Gala night was the portraits of the individuals and groups being honored. It was a fusion of the grand vision of large corporations and the extraordinary efforts of each individual.
The public has witnessed the nation's stature through Viettel 's "School Internet" project, connecting knowledge for 25 million teachers and students. We have also seen the enduring dedication of the Thien Tam Foundation over the past 20 years, with tens of trillions of VND donated. Or consider Miza – a company that has proven that the circular economy is not just theory, recycling hundreds of thousands of tons of paper and saving millions of trees each year.
Most moving of all are the stories of silent sacrifice. One such story is that of Lieutenant Colonel and journalist Hoang Truong Giang, who for 17 years dedicated to "Lighting a Match," gathering every bit of love for children in mountainous regions and military families.
His response to his son, "I was once in a difficult situation and received help from everyone. Now, seeing others in difficulty, I must help them too," touched the hearts of millions of viewers. It also resonated with the 116 Rescue Team, whose courageous members fought to save lives from the raging floodwaters, assisting in the search and rescue efforts for over 1,100 families.
Notably, this year the Organizing Committee has added the category "Silent Service" - a humane decision to ensure that no "heroes without capes" are overlooked.
The image of "Mother Mười" Trần Thị Cẩm Giang, who has cared for the unfortunate at Thiện Duyên Shelter for nearly 40 years, or the war veteran doctor Lê Thành Đô, who has been making free prosthetic limbs for over 20 years, has become the most beautiful symbol of selfless compassion.

The difference of the Community Action Award lies in its "action-oriented" nature. At the Final Round, significant financial resources were mobilized. Guest judge Ho Ngoc Ha personally donated 300 million VND to the 116 Waterway Rescue Team and 200 million VND to the "Light a Match" project – a 17-year initiative by journalist Hoang Truong Giang for children in mountainous areas and struggling military families.
Journalist Le Quoc Minh also donated 100 million VND to the "Humanity in the Midst of Storms" project of the 116 Waterway Rescue Team.
Furthermore, the members of the Judging Panel have committed to becoming long-term advisors and media sponsors for projects such as VietSeeds, Trang Nguyen Education, and Miza. This serves as a leverage to ensure that community initiatives not only survive but also develop sustainably and spread their impact more widely.
