"Acting for the Community" is an annual award organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with VCCorp Joint Stock Company. It has become a prestigious national award honoring individuals, organizations, and businesses that are persistently creating positive value for society through community initiatives and projects with long-lasting impact.

Attending the award ceremony were members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam: Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Lai Xuan Mon; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association , Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, and Head of the Organizing Committee of the "Action for the Community" Award Le Quoc Minh; and Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh.
With the theme "Perseverance in Service," the 2025 season received 160 entries, more than the 138 projects in 2024.
The submissions came from businesses, social organizations, volunteer groups, and individuals across the country, spanning a wide range of fields: nature conservation, sustainable livelihood development, education , health, equal opportunity, welfare for vulnerable groups, honoring history, preserving cultural identity, and green transformation in production and business.
Following the preliminary round, 27 outstanding projects were selected for the final round. These projects not only presented themselves to the judging panel but were also introduced to the public through the "Action for the Community" 2025 exhibition, creating a space for viewers to better understand the positive impact of these initiatives.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, journalist Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee of the "Action for the Community" Award, said that the 2025 award honors many projects, ideas, and kind-hearted people.
But the moment they received the trophy was not the end, but the beginning. Because the award was created not just to honor one person or organization, but to awaken many others, not to conclude with a ceremony, but to open a new journey, to choose how to become part of community-oriented actions together.
"We believe that an award only truly lives on when it continues to generate action afterward. This year, we are witnessing that being put into practice," journalist Le Quoc Minh emphasized.

The prestigious "Award of the Year" category - the "Community Action Award 2025" - was presented to five projects: "Trang Nguyen Education - A 10-Year Journey of Spreading Knowledge"; "School Internet"; "Miza - A Circular Economy Model in the Paper Industry"; "Serving for a Better Life for Everyone"; and the Intergenerational Self-Help Club.
The "Sustainable Project" category honored four projects: “GNI: 20 Years of Creating Good Change”, “Bright Eyes for the Community”, “New Beginning”, and the VietSeeds Scholarship Fund.

In the "Sustainable Projects" category, awards were given to four projects: “REPEET - Doing Good”, “Reviving Coconut Gardens, Greening the Future”, the Pangolin Rescue and Conservation Program, and Heineken Vietnam's Water Resource Conservation.
The "Inspirational Projects" category honored 5 projects: “Coloring Memories - Skyline”, “Vietnamese Family Home”, “Hair Library”, “Humanity in the Waves”, and “Lighting a Matchstick”.

"Persevering in Service" - The prominent message at the 2025 Community Action Awards.
The "Timely Project" category honored three projects: Hope School, the "Light for Education" Program, and GELEX Philanthropy - Creating Community Happiness.
In the "Ideas" category, the "Ideas for the Community" award was given to the project "Gene Connection Journey - Rediscovering the Names of Fallen Soldiers"; the Sustainable Development Idea award was given to the project "Nam Duoc - Sustainable Development of Clean Medicinal Herbs".

Notably, in addition to the official award categories, at this year's awards ceremony, the judging panel of the "Action for the Community" Award decided to add a category called "Silent Service".
This category is dedicated to recognizing and honoring individuals and projects that have made sustained contributions, created positive impacts, and strongly inspired the community, but for various reasons were unable to participate in or were not nominated for the award.

The addition of this category reflects the open and humane spirit of the "Action for the Community" Award, aiming to promptly honor those who are quietly and selflessly dedicating themselves to society.

Two individuals were honored in the "Silent Service" category: Ms. Tran Thi Cam Giang, founder and director of Thien Duyen Shelter in Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City; and Dr. Le Thanh Do, a war veteran in Hanoi, who has spent over 20 years producing and donating thousands of prosthetic limbs free of charge to poor disabled people across the country.
