Vote of confidence for Hanoi Chairman at year-end People's Council meeting

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Viet, Chief of Office of the Hanoi People's Council, the 14th session will take place over 4 days, opening on December 5 and closing on the afternoon of December 8. It is expected that the 14th session will consider 25 reports and issue 43 resolutions.

Specifically, the meeting will review the implementation of this year's socio -economic development plan, Hanoi's socio-economic development tasks in 2024; report on the direction and operation of the City People's Committee in 2023, directions and tasks in 2024; report on the main contents of the Hanoi Capital Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050...

The Hanoi People's Council also considered the content of the issuance of specialized resolutions and individual resolutions, including: approving the adjustment of investment policies for projects using the city's public investment capital; approving the Project to adjust the Hanoi Capital Planning to 2045, with a vision to 2065; the resolution of the City People's Council approving the Project to improve fire prevention and fighting capacity in the city; establishing a delegation to supervise the implementation of discipline, order and responsibility in the performance of public duties of state agencies under Hanoi.

Regulations on the level of health insurance premium support for the elderly from 70 to under 80 years old, people with mild disabilities, students in difficult circumstances, people from households working in agriculture , forestry, and fishery with an average living standard in Hanoi in the period 2024 - 2025...

At this session, the Hanoi People's Council will also conduct a vote of confidence for positions elected by the City People's Council. For the question and answer activity, the session will spend 1 day to carry out this activity. The content will be the implementation of socio-economic tasks and pressing issues that delegates and voters in the capital are interested in.

Regarding specific information about the content of the vote of confidence for positions elected by the City People's Council, Head of the Legal Committee of the Hanoi People's Council Duy Hoang Duong said that, implementing Resolution No. 96/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly, the Hanoi People's Council has quickly deployed and issued a plan to organize the implementation.

According to Article 2 of Resolution No. 96, the group of people who will be voted on for confidence at the meeting according to the People's Council bloc includes: the chairman, vice chairman and heads of the People's Council committees; the People's Committee bloc includes: the chairman, vice chairman and members of the People's Committee. "The specific proposed list will be based on regulations and then presented at the meeting and will be decided by the People's Council," Mr. Duong added.

Previously, in July 2022, at the 8th session, the Hanoi People's Council elected Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Speaking immediately after receiving his new assignment, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh said: "For me personally, accepting the assignment of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee is an honor, and at the same time carries a great responsibility before the Party Committee, government, voters and people of the capital."
