Mai Diem Temple was recognized as a provincial historical-cultural relic since 1997. The temple worships the Holy Mother and her third son, King Bich Ba Dong Hai, who had great contributions in defending the country from the early days. The temple is also a place to commemorate King Tran Quoc Tuan, General Pham Ngu Lao and other famous generals of the Tran Dynasty who defeated the Yuan-Mongol invaders and established the ancient Dai Toan estuary at the end of the 13th century.
Every year, the traditional festival of Mai Diem Temple is held in two stages, on the 12th day of the third lunar month and the 22nd day of the eighth lunar month, to pay tribute to the merits of ancestors, educate the nation on patriotism, solidarity and the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking"

The festival is organized with rituals, incense offering, and many cultural and artistic activities... attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over the world to attend.
