Promoting key economic strengths

As a purely agricultural locality, Vinh Loc commune has identified the rice-shrimp model as the main development direction, creating sustainable livelihoods for the people. According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thai, Head of the Economic Department, the commune focuses on organic production, linking value chains to improve efficiency and sustainable development.

Currently, the commune has 7 cooperatives, of which Ba Dinh Cooperative is a typical example, bringing in an income of 240-270 million VND/ha/year. The Cooperative has built the brand "Ba Dinh Rice - Shrimp", achieved 3-star OCOP and Mai An Tiem Award 2024.

Ba Dinh Cooperative has become a bridge to bring people's products to a wide range of customers.

The cooperative has implemented 16 services, linked with 3 businesses, consumed more than 1,100 tons of rice, 137 tons of commercial shrimp, helping to reduce 10-15% of production costs for members. The application of science and technology has helped increase rice productivity from 500 to 900 kg/cong, and the survival rate of shrimp is also higher thanks to the two-stage nursery process.

Considered an effective model adapting to climate change, ecological rice-shrimp is being replicated in the province. Ba Dinh Cooperative is currently coordinating with Minh Phu Group to deploy 400 hectares of clean shrimp meeting ASC standards for export and cooperating with the Mekong Delta Rice Institute to develop an organic rice-giant shrimp rotation model, aiming for a green and sustainable agricultural value chain.

Ba Dinh Cooperative's nursery area provides seeds for members, thereby improving production efficiency.

Determining the target of increasing product value by 8.82%/year, average income reaching 110 million VND/person by 2030, reducing poor households to below 1%, Phong Thanh commune focuses on exploiting the potential of industry, trade, services and tourism .

Mr. Tran Van Hung, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: "With a location near Ca Mau airport, on National Highway 1, Phung Hiep Highway, Lang Tram Industrial Park, industrial clusters in Hamlet 6, Hamlet 8, and many spiritual tourist attractions such as Tac Say Church, Thien Truc Pagoda, Phong Thanh are maximizing their advantages for comprehensive and dynamic development."

In Song Doc commune - the dynamic coastal urban area of the province, the locality takes advantage of the potential of marine economy, aquaculture, fishing, eco-tourism and the strategic position of national defense and security for rapid and sustainable development.

Mr. Do Van Su, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said that the commune is taking advantage of infrastructure investment, expanding urban space, creating conditions to attract investment, and developing a modern marine economy. Traffic routes such as the West Sea Dike, Tac Thu - Vam Da Bac, Tac Thu - Song Doc, East - West axis... help connect seamlessly, opening up directions for marine and island ecotourism.

In the coming time, Song Doc will review the planning, remove obstacles in site clearance, and create clean land to attract investment.

Not only Vinh Loc, Phong Thanh and Song Doc, many other localities in the province are also concretizing development goals, exploiting maximum potential and advantages, creating socio-economic breakthroughs, and improving people's lives.
