The Vietnamese team will play Nepal again in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers at Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC) at 7:30 p.m. on October 14. Like the first leg, coach Kim Sang Sik's team is under pressure to win against a weaker opponent to continue chasing Malaysia on the rankings.

The Be Soccer supercomputer also highly appreciates the possibility that the “Golden Dragons” will continue to win against Nepal. According to the supercomputer’s analysis, the Vietnamese team has an 81.1% chance of defeating Nepal. In particular, the expected goals (xG) of this team is 2.46 goals.

On the other hand, Nepal has only a 5.2% chance of winning 3 points at Thong Nhat Stadium. Nepal's expected goal ratio is only 0.46 goals. The chance of the match ending in a draw is 13.7%.

The most likely score for Vietnam to win is 2-0 with 16.3%. The scores of 1-0 (13.4%) and 3-0 (13.3%) are also highly likely. Meanwhile, the most likely score for Nepal to win is 1-0 with 2.5%. The most likely score for a draw is 1-1 with 6.2%.

In fact, the possibility of Vietnam winning the rematch with Nepal is quite high. However, fans are still waiting for a brighter image of coach Kim Sang Sik's team.

In the first leg, the Vietnamese team struggled against Nepal. Although we scored an early opening goal through Tien Linh, Shrestha later equalized for Nepal. The turning point of the match came at the end of the first half when Laken Limbu received a red card and left the field. With the advantage of having more players, the “Golden Dragons” scored two consecutive goals in the second half to win.

According to statistics, the "Golden Star Warriors" held the ball for 75% of the time, had 24 shots (10 on target), had 11 corner kicks but "only" scored 3 goals against the South Asian team.

Coach Kim Sang Sik recognized this problem after the match. In the pre-match press conference, the Korean strategist admitted that he expected his players to be sharper in finishing. In particular, he hoped Tien Linh could score more goals.
