The unit price for collection, transportation and treatment of household waste must be completed no later than November 30.

(DN) - On the afternoon of October 14, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang chaired a meeting with relevant departments, branches and enterprises on the progress of construction and issuance of unit prices for collection, transportation and treatment of household waste in the province.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the department has recently coordinated with relevant units to develop a pricing plan. However, the process of collecting opinions from businesses has been slow, leading to the failure to ensure progress as required by the Provincial People's Committee.

According to Mr. Thang, currently, each enterprise has different technology, equipment, management costs and production costs, so the construction price plan also has differences. The Department is synthesizing and evaluating the price plan proposed by the collection and transportation units and plans to submit it to the Provincial People's Committee in November.

At the meeting, businesses recommended that the Provincial People's Committee soon issue a ceiling price for collection, transportation and treatment of household waste as a basis for localities to sign contracts and settle costs.

Mr. Tran Anh Dung, General Director of Sonadezi Service Company, said: The current unit price was built in 2017 and applied from 2018, and is no longer suitable. At the request of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the company has built a new plan.

After listening to the reports and opinions of the parties, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang said: The Department of Agriculture and Environment was slow in developing and advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue unit prices, causing many localities and businesses to face difficulties in bidding and settling service costs.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted: The unit price issued by the Provincial People's Committee is the maximum price, the construction must adhere to the economic and technical standards of the Central Government. During the construction process, if there are any problems, the Department recommends that the Provincial People's Committee issue a unified waste treatment process applicable throughout the province, and at the same time summarize the difficulties in implementation so that the province can propose to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for consideration and guidance.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: The Department of Agriculture and Environment completes the dossier and submits it to the Provincial People's Committee for approval of the unit price no later than November 30, 2025. Relevant departments and branches have contributed their opinions to complete the draft according to this timeline.
