Da Nang International Fireworks Festival attracts nearly 1 million visitors

On July 17, at the 12th session of the 10th term People's Council of Da Nang City, reporting on the socio -economic situation in the first 6 months of 2023, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that DIFF 2023, which had just been re-organized after 3 years of suspension due to the pandemic, had attracted a large number of tourists.

Specifically, the number of visitors staying over the 1-month festival period is estimated at more than 942,000, an increase of 29% compared to the 2019 fireworks festival.

Also according to Mr. Ho Ky Minh, in the first 6 months of 2023, the number of guests served by accommodation establishments is estimated at more than 3.5 million, reaching 83% of the 2023 plan, 2.1 times higher than the same period in 2022 and an increase of 4.4% compared to the first 6 months of 2019 (3.35 million).

Of which, international visitors are estimated at 930,000, reaching 182% of the plan, more than 11 times higher than the same period in 2022. Domestic visitors are estimated at more than 2.57 million, reaching 69% of the plan, up nearly 68% over the same period in 2022 and up more than 38% over the first 6 months of 2019.

The 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival has left many beautiful impressions in the hearts of locals and tourists.

Revenue from accommodation and travel services in the first 6 months of 2023 is estimated at VND 6,231 billion, up 99% over the same period in 2022 and up more than 12% over the first 6 months of 2019. Of which, accommodation revenue is estimated at VND 4,277 billion, up nearly 77% over the same period in 2022, up nearly 22% over the first 6 months of 2019. Revenue from travel and tourism support activities is estimated at VND 1,954 billion, 2.7 times higher than the same period in 2022.

Reporting at the meeting, Chairman of the Danang City Fatherland Front Committee Ngo Xuan Thang said that the city's people were excited when the international fireworks festival officially returned with the theme "A World Without Distance" after 3 years of suspension due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Also during this time, the city has organized many festivals, music and art events that are especially attractive, bringing to the city's residents and tourists a space for fun and exploration "without distance" as the theme of the festival. People expect that the success of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival will create many good impressions of a livable and worth-visiting Da Nang in the eyes of tourists," said Mr. Thang.
