According to the 2019 Labor Code, employees are entitled to a total of 11 official paid holidays and Tet, including New Year's Day (1 day), Lunar New Year (5 days), Hung King's death anniversary on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month (1 day), April 30th (1 day), International Labor Day (1 day) and National Day (2 days).

Foreigners working in Vietnam get an extra day off for their traditional New Year and National Day.

Previously, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Ministry of Home Affairs ) announced the National Day holiday schedule on September 2 in 2025 for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers.

Accordingly, the 2025 National Day holiday lasts from Saturday, August 30 to Tuesday, September 2.

Including 2 National Day holidays according to law and 2 weekend days (Saturday, Sunday). Total 4 days.

In 2025, officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers will have 22 days off for holidays and Tet, including 11 official days and 11 compensatory and swapped days off.

Agencies and units that do not have fixed days off every Saturday and Sunday must arrange a suitable holiday schedule based on the specific program and plan of the unit, but must notify at least 30 days in advance.

For the National Day holiday on September 2, employers can choose a holiday option including Tuesday, September 2 and one of two days: Monday (September 1) or Wednesday (September 3) depending on the situation.

Thereby promoting production, business, economic growth, practicing thrift, fighting waste, striving to successfully implement the goals and tasks of the 2025 plan. This year is also the year of acceleration and breakthrough in implementing the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025, creating a solid foundation and premise for rapid and sustainable development.
