Tay Ninh Linh Son Thanh Mau Festival this year will be held from June 21-23, with many solemn activities and rituals.

Associated with the legend of Linh Son Thanh Mau on Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh), Linh Son Thanh Mau festival is held annually in the 5th lunar month, with the main rituals lasting for three days from the 4th to the 6th of the 5th lunar month. Over the centuries, with its unique spiritual and cultural values, the festival has been recognized as a "National Intangible Cultural Heritage" and is an event that attracts a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

This year, the Linh Son Thanh Mau festival will be held by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Tay Ninh and the Executive Board of the Ba Nui Pagoda system on June 21-23 (ie May 4-6 of the lunar calendar) at Linh Son Tien Thach Pagoda, Linh Son Thanh Mau Temple on Ba Den Mountain with a variety of spiritual activities, cultural and artistic activities and many new experiences.

During the three days of the festival, traditional rituals will take place at Ba Temple and Ba Pagoda such as Hung Tac ceremony, Ngo Phat worship ceremony, Ba bathing ceremony... The event is expected to attract the participation of monks, nuns, and Buddhists from many localities.

In addition to the rituals, on the evenings of June 21-22 (ie May 4-5 of the lunar calendar), many art performances such as the golden tray dance, the dragon and horse incense dance or special excerpts from the reformed opera about the legend of Linh Son Thanh Mau will also be performed by artists from many art troupes. The activities bring to the people and visitors to Ba Mountain a variety of spiritual experiences and traditional folk culture.

On this year's occasion, tourists, Buddhists and people in the South also have the opportunity to listen to a Dharma talk about the legend of Linh Son Thanh Mau, to better understand the Bodhisattva and the customs that people and Buddhists often do when coming to the mountain to worship her for many years. The activity is chaired by the Deputy Abbot of the Ba Mountain Pagoda System, nun Thich Nu Dieu Hai.

On the main festival day of June 22 (5/5 lunar calendar), Buddhists and tourists coming to Ba Mountain will have the opportunity to meet and talk with Venerable Thich Nu Dieu Nghia - Abbot of the Ba Mountain Pagoda System in Tay Ninh. She is the one who contributed to the restoration and reconstruction of the worship system at Ba Mountain after it was devastated by war.

Offering candles and worshiping the spiritual complex

The highlight of this year's Ba festival is the flower lantern offering program held on the afternoon of June 22 (ie May 5th lunar month) at Ba Temple area.

During the festival week, the entire area of Ba Pagoda will be lit up with thousands of lotus lanterns, conical hat lanterns, rice lanterns and Buddhist flags. This is also the first year that the Linh Son Thanh Mau festival has been solemnly and splendidly decorated, promising to bring a memorable festival season.

Worshiping the relics on the mountain top

The festival is also an opportunity for people and tourists to make a pilgrimage to worship the sacred Ba Mountain. The mountain top area is a complex of spiritual works with a 72m high bronze statue of Buddha Tay Bo Da Son, an exhibition area with hundreds of classic Buddhist art works, and antiques in wooden and stone architecture dating from the 11th to 13th centuries. In addition, visitors have the opportunity to explore and admire ancient pagodas in Vietnam through 3D hologram technology. This is a technology that creates a three-dimensional image floating in the air, helping viewers observe 360-degree floating images without using a projection screen or specialized glasses.

In the space on the 4th floor of the Buddhist exhibition center at the foot of the statue of Buddha Tay Bo Da Son, Buddhists and visitors will have the opportunity to see and pay homage to the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni.

"With many Buddhist cultural heritages, the system of spiritual works on the top of Ba Den mountain helps Buddhists and tourists explore the Buddhist world in a new way," Sun Group representative expected.
