Florian Wirtz, a key player in Leverkusen's style of play, is attracting the attention of a series of European giants. Bayern Munich seemed to have secured the opportunity to recruit the German international, but the midfielder has changed his mind and is considering joining Liverpool.
Leverkusen expects to earn 150 million euros if they sell Wirtz. This is a large enough amount for the Bundesliga club to reinvest in the squad. Previously, Liverpool also reached an agreement to recruit Jeremie Frimpong from Leverkusen for a fee of 35 million euros.
The Dutch defender is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Merseyside club. Frimpong was a star winger for Leverkusen under Alonso.

On the opposite wing, Alex Grimaldo is also attracting interest from three La Liga giants: Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
"My dream is to play in Spain," Grimaldo once said when asked about his future. The defender has a contract with Leverkusen until June 2027. The club can let Grimaldo leave if they receive a suitable offer.
In the center-back position, captain Jonathan Tah confirmed that he will leave Leverkusen when his contract expires this summer. Bayern Munich is likely to be Tah's next destination.
After two impressive seasons under Alonso, Leverkusen are suffering a talent drain. Fans are worried about the club's performance next season.
To replace Alonso, the Leverkusen board will put their trust in Erik ten Hag. The Dutch coach has been unemployed since leaving MU at the end of October last year. The departure of key stars will make Ten Hag's job more difficult.
