
National Day holiday from August 30, 2025 to September 2, 2025.
Previously, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Ministry of Interior ) issued document 6150/TB-BLĐTBXH announcing the Lunar New Year holiday, National Day holiday, Victory Day holiday on April 30th and International Labour Day holiday on May 1st, 2025 for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers.
Accordingly, officials, civil servants, and employees of administrative agencies, public service organizations, political organizations, and socio-political organizations (civil servants and public employees) will have a holiday for National Day 2025 from Saturday, August 30, 2025 to Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
This holiday period includes two days of the National Day holiday and two days of the regular weekend.
In 2025, civil servants, public employees, and workers will also have holidays for Victory Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1), from April 30, 2025 to May 4, 2025.
Arrange and organize on-call teams according to regulations to handle the work.
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs requests that agencies and units implementing the Lunar New Year holiday, National Day holiday, Victory Day holiday on April 30th, and International Labour Day holiday on May 1st, 2025, take note of the following: Arrange and organize on-call departments according to regulations and work efficiently to ensure continuous work, guaranteeing good service to organizations and the people. Particular attention should be paid to assigning officials and civil servants to be on duty to handle any unexpected or urgent matters that may arise during the holiday period.
Agencies, units, and localities should have specific and appropriate plans and measures to encourage units, businesses, organizations, and individuals to actively and proactively implement production, business, economic , and social activities, ensuring stable supply and demand of goods and services, prices, and markets, contributing to promoting production and business, economic growth, practicing thrift, combating waste, and striving to successfully achieve the goals and tasks of the 2025 plan, a year of acceleration and breakthrough in the implementation of the 2021-2025 five-year plan, creating a solid foundation and premise for rapid and sustainable development in the future.
Agencies and units that do not follow a fixed Saturday and Sunday weekly holiday schedule should arrange their holiday schedules accordingly.
According to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, agencies and units that do not follow a fixed Saturday and Sunday weekly holiday schedule will base their holiday arrangements on the specific programs and plans of their respective units, in accordance with the law.
For employees who are not civil servants, public employees, or employees of administrative agencies, public service organizations, political organizations, or socio-political organizations, employers may choose the following options for National Day, Victory Day (April 30), and International Labor Day (May 1) holidays in 2025:
For the National Day holiday: Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 (Gregorian calendar) and choose one of two days: Monday, September 1st, 2025 or Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025 (Gregorian calendar).
Employers must notify employees of their Lunar New Year and National Day holiday plans for 2025 at least 30 days in advance.
If the weekly rest day coincides with a public holiday as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code, the employee is entitled to a compensatory day off on the next working day as stipulated in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs encourages employers to apply the same holiday schedule for Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day (April 30th), and International Labour Day (May 1st) in 2025 for employees as stipulated for civil servants and public employees.
Other holidays and festivals are observed according to the provisions of the Labor Code.
