The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11 in the French capital. The Games will attract more than 10,700 athletes, competing in 32 sports. The Vietnamese sports delegation will participate in the Games with 16 athletes, competing in 11 sports with the goal of winning medals.
On July 27, the Vietnamese sports delegation has a busy schedule with 5 events: badminton, judo, rowing, shooting and boxing. In particular, the judo event in the 48kg weight class with the participation of female judo athlete Hoang Thi Tinh will take place from the qualifying round to the final, from 3pm to 9pm.
The highlight of the Vietnamese sports delegation's competition schedule at the 2024 Olympics is August 2 with 4 events: shooting, archery, athletics and swimming.
The detailed schedule for judo and badminton is expected to be finalized on July 25 after a meeting between the organizing committee and the team leaders. At that time, Hoang Thi Tinh will determine her opponent, Nguyen Thuy Lonh (women's singles) and Le Duc Phat (men's singles) will have a specific schedule for the 3 matches in the group stage.
In the above sports, archery will compete in the mixed team event with Do Thi Anh Nguyet and Le Quoc Phong - starting the 1/8 qualifying round at 2:30 p.m., if they pass, they will continue to the quarterfinals at 7:15 p.m.
Vietnamese athletes will also compete in the final event on the same day of the competition: cyclist Nguyen Thi That (cycling, women's individual road) will compete at 7 p.m. on August 4; weightlifter Trinh Van Vinh (weightlifting, men's 61kg) will compete at 8 p.m. on August 7.
Vietnam's hopes for medals are placed on athletes Trinh Thu Vinh (shooting), Trinh Van Vinh (weightlifting) and two archers, Anh Nguyet and Quoc Phong.
