According to the schedule of the 2024 Paris Olympics on August 4, the Vietnamese sports delegation will compete in cycling. From 7 p.m., cyclist Nguyen Thi That will compete in the final of the women's start event with 92 opponents. Among them are still the best cyclists in Tokyo 2020 such as gold medalist Anna Kiesenhofer (Austria), bronze medalist Elisa Longo Borghini (Italy), fourth place Lotte Kopecky (Belgium), fifth place Marianne Vos (Netherlands). Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi That's best achievement is the silver medal at the 2014 Asian Games, three times Asian champion (2018, 2022 and 2023). Nguyen Thi That was born in 1993, practiced cycling since the age of 14 after being discovered by coach Ngo Quoc Tien for her talent and selected for the An Giang youth team. From the perspective of a Southeast Asian racer, That’s career has long been fulfilling as she won gold medals in five consecutive SEA Games. She is also the first Vietnamese female racer to compete abroad and has achieved many successes.
