This time, despite being rated very low, the Vietnamese team still won 3-1 even though Thailand was the defending champion. This result helped Vietnam rise to 2nd place, behind Thailand in terms of sub-index (both teams won 2, lost 1).

Therefore, a win against Indonesia on the afternoon of July 12 could open up the opportunity for the Vietnamese team to win the SEA V.League for the first time. Of course, that will not be an easy task. Although they just won against Thailand, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team is still not rated as highly as Indonesia.

Nearly 2 months ago at the AVC Nations Cup, the two teams had the opportunity to face each other. Although Vietnam took a 2-0 lead, they were then defeated 2-3 by Indonesia's experience and bravery. However, the spirit factor this time still belonged to Coach Tran Dinh Tien's team after the victory over Thailand.
