( Quang Ngai Newspaper) - Recently, the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and the provincial Industrial Parks (Management Board) and the People's Committee of Quang Ngai City signed a memorandum of understanding on coordination to support job creation for workers in Quang Ngai City. This can be considered one of the specific and practical solutions to enhance job creation and shift the labor structure in a positive direction for Quang Ngai City.

The country's socio -economic development strategy for the 2021-2030 period has identified the goal of labor restructuring as "the proportion of labor in the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector will decrease to below 20% of the total number of employed workers in the economy". This is also the goal that most localities in the country are aiming for, Quang Ngai province in general and Quang Ngai city in particular are no exception. Therefore, it requires localities to have appropriate and breakthrough policies and solutions to promote job creation, increase productivity and labor quality, contribute to economic growth, and move towards sustainable development.

According to the memorandum of understanding signed by the Management Board with the People's Committee of Quang Ngai City, in the coming time, the Management Board will support and facilitate connections for the People's Committee of Quang Ngai City to directly work with enterprises in need of recruiting workers in localities of the city. Every quarter, the City People's Committee sends a list of workers to the Management Board for monitoring and introduction to enterprises. Annually, the Management Board and the City People's Committee discuss, evaluate results and supplement measures to improve coordination efficiency...

In particular, the two sides will form a Zalo group to solve employment, with the participation of functional departments of the two sides and leaders of communes and wards of the city. When a business comes into operation, the two sides agree to consider and organize a job exchange floor specifically for Quang Ngai City. Strive from now until the end of the term (2020 - 2025) to solve employment for 1,000 workers who are citizens of the city.

Currently, Dung Quat Economic Zone and the province's industrial parks have 346 valid projects, with a total registered investment capital of more than 18 billion USD. There are currently 249 projects in operation, creating jobs for more than 66,000 workers. Of which, Binh Son district and Quang Ngai city are the two localities with the largest number of workers working in Dung Quat Economic Zone and the province's industrial parks. In 2023, the labor recruitment demand of enterprises in Dung Quat Economic Zone and the province's industrial parks is about 2,500 workers. Up to this point, enterprises have only recruited 1,895 workers (79% of the plan). The forecast recruitment demand of enterprises in the period from 2023 to 2027 is nearly 26,000 workers. That shows that the recruitment demand of enterprises as well as job opportunities for workers in Quang Ngai city and localities in the province are still very large.

Particularly for Quang Ngai City, in recent times, there have been many efforts to connect and coordinate through referral channels and create jobs for many workers to have stable jobs. On average, every year, over 5,000 workers of working age are provided with jobs. However, there are still over 6,650 unemployed people. Hopefully, through the coordination of Quang Ngai City People's Committee and the Management Board, a close link will be created in solving jobs for the city's workers.

This is also a good and practical way that localities in the province should consider and coordinate with the Management Board to implement.
