Regarding advances in cancer treatment, experts say that about 80% of cancers require surgical intervention; about 60% of cancers are cured by surgery.

For example, the first oncolytic virus, T-VEC, was approved by the FDA in 2015 to treat metastatic melanoma. T-VEC is a type of herpes simplex virus 1. Oncolytic viruses are a form of immunotherapy that use viruses to infect and kill cancer cells.

In addition, vaccine treatment of malignancies is a method that can induce systemic tumor regression, long-term remission, and improved survival rates.

Or hyperthermia therapy, which involves heating a tumor to inhibit the growth of cancer cells with the aim of killing them or making them more sensitive to the effects of conventional radiation and chemotherapy regimens.
