Yesterday afternoon, Marc Guehi underwent a medical examination under the guidance of Liverpool FC in London. All procedures are almost complete when the two clubs also agreed on a fee of 35 million pounds.
However, Crystal Palace have struggled to find a replacement. They initially wanted to loan centre-back Igor Julio from Brighton, but West Ham snatched him away.

A deal was submitted to the Premier League ahead of the 7pm transfer deadline on 1 September, with personal terms agreed between Guehi and Liverpool.
However, Palace suddenly cancelled the deal, despite the risk of losing the 25-year-old centre-back for free next summer.
Guehi's contract with Crystal Palace runs until June 2026 and he has made it clear he will not sign an extension.
Chairman Steve Parish wanted to get a fee for Guehi and gave the green light for him to move to Liverpool. However, this was met with a backlash from manager Oliver Glasner.
The Austrian coach affirmed that Guehi should not be sold and was very disappointed with Palace's passive approach in the summer transfer window of 2025.
As for Liverpool, the inability to add Marc Guehi makes coach Arne Slot worried about the center-back position, because apart from Van Dijk - Konate, the reserve force is not good enough when replacement is needed.
