In particular, this year's tournament has the participation of many top names in the world such as Johann Chua - the reigning champion; Fedor Gorst, Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and top Vietnamese players such as Duong Quoc Hoang and Dinh Chan Kiet.
Ms. Bach Lien Huong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: "This year, we are especially honored to have a Vietnamese player in the top 16 best players for the first time, bringing deep emotion and pride to fans across the country.
Although the tournament started with difficulties due to the impact of storms and floods, with a spirit of professionalism, courage and high responsibility, the Organizing Committee flexibly overcame and rearranged the competition schedule, ensuring the progress and quality of the tournament. In particular, the Organizing Committee also allocated 100 million VND from ticket sales to join hands with the community to support people to overcome the consequences of floods. This is a humane gesture, clearly demonstrating the spirit of "Sports for the community", contributing to spreading the good values of sports not only on the field but also in life. The dedication of the Organizing Committee, the constant efforts of the players, and the love and support of the audience are the factors that create the vitality, emotions and true values of sports.
I would like to send my deep thanks to Matchroom, Vietcontent Company, accompanying units, domestic and international players, especially the fans who have contributed to creating a memorable season."

Duong Quoc Hoang stopped at the Hanoi 9-ball pool tournament
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the round of 16 and quarter-finals took place. Before that, there were surprises when Johann Chua had to become the former king early. Not only Johann Chua, a series of other heavyweight candidates also had to stop early such as Fedor Gorst and Francisco Sanchez Ruiz.
These are considered the big shocks of this year's tournament, showing the fierce and unpredictable competition. The home team's biggest hope - Duong Quoc Hoang had to stop at the round of 16 after an unfortunate defeat against Roberto Gomez of the Philippines.
However, Vietnam still has Dinh Chan Kiet - a real "dark horse" of the tournament. Starting from an unrated position, Dinh Chan Kiet created a big surprise when he was in the top 16 best players of the tournament. Besides the top performances, Hanoi Open Pool 2025 is also an opportunity for Vietnamese billiards to affirm their ability to organize international-scale tournaments, while promoting the image of Hanoi to international friends.
