Goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan was given the captain's armband for the U23 Vietnam team to participate in the 2024 AFC U23 Championship. Previously, this goalkeeper was the captain of the U23 Vietnam team on the journey to win the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.
Supporting Quan Van Chuan are 4 vice-captains: Luong Duy Cuong, Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Nguyen Thai Son and Nguyen Van Tung. The U23 Vietnam executive committee includes representatives from the goalkeeping positions to the defense, midfield and forward lines.
Sharing his feelings when being given the captain's armband by the U23 Vietnam coaching staff, Quan Van Chuan affirmed that he and his teammates will strive to give their all in each match and aim for the best results at the 2024 U23 Asian Cup.
Meanwhile, four names said goodbye to U23 Vietnam when finalizing the list to attend the 2024 AFC U23 Championship, including goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien, defender Nguyen Thanh Khai, Nguyen Duc Anh and midfielder Ha Van Phuong, who will return home today, April 16.
According to the schedule of the 2024 AFC U23 Championship, Vietnam U23 will start in Group D against Kuwait U23 at 10:30 p.m. tomorrow, April 17. After that, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team will meet Malaysia U23 at 8:00 p.m. on April 21 and Uzbekistan U23 at 10:30 p.m. on April 23.
