Microsoft patches serious security vulnerability on Windows
TECHRADAR SCREENSHOT
According to Microsoft, this vulnerability allows attackers to execute remote code (RCE) by sending specially crafted network packets to the victim device within Wi-Fi range. What is particularly dangerous is that users do not need to take any action to be attacked, putting people who often work in public spaces such as cafes, libraries, airports, etc. at high risk of being compromised.
Although there is no evidence of this vulnerability being exploited in the wild, Microsoft still recommends that users update to the latest patch as soon as possible to ensure system security.
In addition, Microsoft also patched 48 other bugs in Windows and related components, including a serious vulnerability in Microsoft Message Queuing that could allow attackers to run malicious code with elevated administrative rights.
The company's move serves as a reminder of the importance of regular system updates to protect computers from cyber threats. Users are advised to install the latest patches from Microsoft as soon as possible to avoid falling victim to cyber attacks.
