Quang Binh A male student could not take the 10th grade entrance exam because he was beaten by a friend at a farewell party at the end of the year and had to be hospitalized.
Mr. Vo Danh Thuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, said the male student was in class 9C, Hung Thuy Secondary School.
The incident happened on June 3. During a farewell party, the student and a group of friends from the same school had a conflict that led to a fight. Due to having to move to Thua Thien Hue for treatment, the male student missed the 10th grade entrance exam in Quang Binh province, which started on June 6.
Initially, authorities determined that eight students participated in beating the male student.
"These students are taking the 10th grade entrance exam, so we haven't done any specific work yet to avoid affecting their mental health," said Mr. Thuan. It is expected that on June 8, when the exam ends, the authorities will invite the students involved and their families to come in for questioning.

Student fights have occurred continuously in Quang Binh since the beginning of the year. In April, a 7th grader in Dong Hoi City cursed and forced her classmate to kneel in class. In Ba Don Town, a 9th grader beat and dragged her classmate along the street.
The province then had to issue an urgent document, requiring the correction of school violence and strengthening of moral education and lifestyle among managers, teachers, staff and students in the area.
