Shortly after, photos of Ky Duyen arguing with her parents continued to appear on social media. According to the photos, when she went to the gym and brought too little clothes, she called her parents to scold and argue loudly.

After that, Ky Duyen's parents spoke up to defend their daughter, but the beauty queen's image still deteriorated visibly in the public eye.

Lying about plastic surgery

In 2015, Ky Duyen suddenly appeared with an unusually pointed chin, completely different from her image on the coronation night. Immediately, the beauty was suspected of having undergone plastic surgery to improve her appearance.

The beauty queen confirmed that she only massaged and had acupressure to slim her face. However, her image was advertised on the official website of the beauty salon that sponsored the Miss Vietnam 2014 contest.

In 2015, when the news of buying watermelons to support Quang Nam people spread on social networks, Ky Duyen also shared a picture of carrying watermelons, calling for support for farmers.

However, according to people at the scene, she only came to hug the watermelon, take pictures, and then go straight to the taxi, unlike what the beauty shared on her personal page.

Public indiscretion

In August 2015, the image of Miss Vietnam 2014 sleeping with her feet up on an airplane seat was spread on social media. Ky Duyen received criticism for her poor awareness and carelessness in public.

Her mother later apologized to the public and explained that due to her busy schedule, her daughter fell asleep on the plane and was accidentally photographed. However, the sloppy image of the beauty queen left a bad impression on fans.

Late to events many times

At the press conference of Miss Vietnam 2016, the Organizing Committee had to postpone it by 1 hour due to Ky Duyen’s absence. It was not until 10 minutes after the program started that the beauty queen hurriedly appeared in the front row.

Ky Duyen then took the initiative to apologize, explaining that due to the rain and traffic jam, she and runner-up Tu Anh were accidentally late. However, this explanation from Ky Duyen did not satisfy reporters or the audience.

In July 2016, the beauty from Nam Dinh disappointed the audience again when photos were revealed of her drunk at a bar. In the photos, she and her boyfriend were carefree blowing laughing gas at an entertainment venue in Ho Chi Minh City.

After that, the Miss Vietnam Organizing Committee established a verification council, reprimanded Ky Duyen, asked her to correct her behavior and lifestyle, and actively improve her public image. She was also stripped of the right to hand over the crown at the Miss Vietnam 2016 contest.

Questioning knowledge

When she competed in Miss Vietnam 2014, Ky Duyen was a first-year student in the Foreign Trade University. After being crowned, the beauty queen did not share any information related to her studies or announce her graduation.

Recently, when registering to participate in Miss Universe Vietnam 2024, Ky Duyen did not mention any educational qualifications. This raised suspicions that up to now, the beauty queen has not graduated and does not have a university degree.

Claims to have never read a book

During the Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 contest, when asked: "How has reading changed your life?", Ky Duyen frankly said: "The truth is that until now I have never finished reading a single book...".

This statement immediately caused a storm and received a lot of criticism from the online community. Especially before that, she also shared a picture of herself reading the book How to Win Friends and Influence People on her personal Facebook page.
