The tourism market is about to enter the peak summer season, the season considered to attract the most tourists of the year. This year, when domestic airfares tend to increase, many tourists tend to choose nearby destinations or visit neighboring countries.
Grasping this need, travel businesses are offering a series of foreign tours with costs of less than 10 million VND.
Ms. Hoang Thu Trang, an employee of Vitamintours agency ( Hanoi ) said that currently, tours to tourist destinations in China, Thailand, Cambodia... are very popular with tourists because of their low fees and attractive schedules. They can choose tours by car, which are convenient and cost-effective.
Some of the tours that are booked by many customers include the Binh Bien - Kien Thuy - Khai Vien - Mong Tu (China) tour for 3 days and 3 nights, departing from Hanoi, traveling by car for only 3.9 million VND/person; the Nanning - Thai Binh ancient town tour for 3 days and 2 nights by car for 4.5 million VND/person; the Hanoi - Thailand tour for 5 days and 4 nights, traveling by plane for 9.9 million VND/person...

Having just booked a tour to Nanning - Thai Binh ancient town (China) for her family's upcoming summer vacation, Ms. Nguyen Bich Thuy said that her family of 4 only had to spend nearly 18 million VND for a full package of all services for 3 days and 2 nights.
“Last year, my family visited Jiuzhaigou (China) through package tours like this. This year, seeing that domestic airfares have increased and domestic destinations are not much cheaper, the whole family decided to visit another destination in China this summer,” said Ms. Thuy.
Having just booked a tour to Thailand, Ms. Nguyen Thu Trang (Hanoi) said that this was the choice her group of friends changed at the last minute.
Initially, Trang’s group of 5 people planned to travel domestically together, with Nha Trang as the chosen destination. However, when they learned that the airfare was up to 7 million VND/person, accounting for more than half of the planned cost of the trip, the group discussed and recalculated.
After that, Ms. Trang was offered a 5-day, 4-night tour to Thailand for more than 10 million VND/person. The whole group quickly agreed to this cost.
" With more than 10 million VND, if we go to Nha Trang, we have to spend more than half to buy plane tickets. The remaining small amount of money is not enough to rent a hotel, experience cuisine and have fun because during the holidays, all costs are more expensive. But with the same amount of money, the Thailand tour is an all-inclusive package, we get to visit another country, clearly this option is more reasonable and economical ," said Ms. Trang.
Informing VTC News , Mr. Tran Van Xuan, Director of Travelive Vietnam Trading and Service Joint Stock Company, said that recently, the demand for foreign travel of Vietnamese people has increased dramatically, in which, tours to China are always in a state of "out of stock".
“China has many destinations and is close to Vietnam, so many tours cost only a few million VND. Therefore, many customers choose to spend money to experience and admire new landscapes. Currently, my company has had several hundred customers book tours to China in early June,” said Mr. Xuan.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Dang Thanh, CEO of Orion Travel, said that many foreign summer tours are currently sold out, and travel agencies are continuously opening more tours to meet demand.
“The most popular market is China, a series of 5-day, 4-night road tours cost only 4-10 million VND, and tours to Thailand by plane are also less than 10 million VND. These tours are in high demand, and as soon as they are opened, they are full, so we have to work with partners to open many more tours,” said Mr. Thanh.
According to Mr. Thanh, the expected peak time for tourists is from the end of May when students start their summer vacation. Currently, many foreign tours for the end of May and beginning of June are fully booked.
Meanwhile, some experts recommend that people should not be tempted by cheap prices to buy tours online. To avoid being scammed or having an unsatisfactory trip, tourists should choose reputable companies and carefully research the itinerary before traveling to avoid losing money and getting "bitter fruit".
