More than 1 million candidates nationwide completed the exams on June 26-27, concluding the 2025 high school graduation exam.
This is the first time the exam is organized according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program. Candidates will take the exam in 3 sessions, including: one session for Literature, one session for Math and one session for two elective subjects. Candidates will be arranged according to the combination of elective exams to optimize the exam room and exam scores.
In Hanoi , 233 examination sites were arranged, of which 229 were for candidates under the 2018 program and 4 were for candidates under the 2006 program, including Chu Van An High School for the Gifted (Tay Ho district), Ly Son Secondary School (Long Bien district), Ha Dong Secondary School (Ha Dong district) and Hong Thai High School (Dan Phuong district).
At 1pm on June 25, many candidates were present at the school gate to complete the exam procedures. All were ready for an important high school graduation exam.
At exactly 2:00 p.m., candidates were called into the examination room to hear the regulations.
Candidates are familiarized with the exam location and room in advance, thereby avoiding unfortunate situations such as going the wrong way, being late, forgetting identification documents, etc.
During two intense days of exams, hundreds of volunteers did not mind the sun or rain, trying their best to accompany the candidates.
Authorities were present very early to direct traffic and avoid congestion during rush hour at exam sites and on many routes.
Not only that, they also personally distributed water and sent words of encouragement to the candidates before entering the important high school graduation exam.
In the first exam session of the high school graduation exam, most candidates were nervous and anxious. The Literature subject, with a time limit of 120 minutes, requires candidates not only to master knowledge but also to demonstrate the ability to think and express themselves clearly.

Most candidates rated this year's Literature exam as good, suitable for their ability, creating conditions for students to express their personal perspectives, independent thinking ability as well as understanding of contemporary social issues.
On the afternoon of June 26, after finishing the Math subject of the 2025 high school graduation exam, many candidates left the exam room in a bad mood. Many students burst into tears right at the school gate because of the pressure from the exam questions, which were assessed as difficult and highly classified, while the time limit for the test was only 90 minutes for 50 multiple-choice questions.
On the morning of June 27, after finishing the final exam of the high school graduation exam, many students hugged each other and danced enthusiastically, marking a journey full of effort and unforgettable emotions.
At the exam site of Trung Vuong Secondary School (Hanoi), the candidates left the exam room in a happy mood, partly because they did well on the test, partly because they passed the exam marking their 12-year journey of hard study.
No longer showing the usual tension seen in previous exams, the students laughed and talked happily, many even jumped up for joy.
Many families took the opportunity to take souvenir photos with their children in front of the exam site, recording the moment marking the end of an important journey.
The last day of the 2025 high school graduation exam has 9 subjects in the same session, each subject has 48 multiple choice questions, test time is 50 minutes/subject, candidates choose no more than 2 subjects.
This is the first time the graduation exam has 9 subjects in one session. Each subject has 48 exam codes - a record so far. The exam will have differentiated questions requiring solutions to practical problems. The content of the questions is mainly from the 12th grade program, but there are still questions related to grades 10 and 11.
The 2025 high school graduation exam scores were announced on July 16. Students can start registering and adjusting their university admission wishes until July 28.
