On September 16, Avia reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation released a video of an attack on a Ukrainian armored vehicle convoy in the Kursk region. These were weapons supplied to Ukraine by Western countries.
The attack took place amid ongoing military operations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the border area of Kursk region. The level of activity of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this area remains high. In early 2024, the German government announced a military aid package for Ukraine with 10 Marder 1A3 infantry fighting vehicles, bringing the total number of Marder 1A3s donated by Germany to 90 vehicles.
Marder version 1A3, is one of the largest and heaviest infantry fighting vehicles (up to 33,500kg). The vehicle is 6.88m long, 3.38m wide and 3.015m high.
