On the afternoon of July 23 in Hanoi , the People's Army Cinema organized the premiere of the film project Red Rain. The event not only introduced a large-scale revolutionary war work, aiming to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, but also was an opportunity for the film crew to share the journey of making and pay tribute to those who fought at Quang Tri Citadel in 1972.
Inspired by the 81 days and nights of defending Quang Tri Citadel - one of the most tragic battles in the resistance war against the US, "Red Rain" was written by writer Chu Lai and directed by Meritorious Artist, Lieutenant Colonel Dang Thai Huyen. The film recreates the bravery and sacrifice of our army and people through a modern cinematic perspective, with the participation of many famous actors and a young cast with thorough military training.
At the event, veteran Nguyen Van Hoi, who fought directly at the Citadel, emotionally shared his memories of the K3 Tam Dao battalion with more than 1,000 soldiers sacrificed, only 39 returned after 81 days and nights. He said he saw his comrades appear in every image of the film.
Red Rain is expected to premiere on August 22, 2025, and is expected to contribute to reviving historical memories, spreading the value of peace and patriotism to today's generations./.
