The double benefits of reducing information poverty.

Implementing the sub-project "Information Poverty Reduction" of Project 6 under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction giai đoạn 2021 - 2025, the People's Committee of the commune has recently used various forms of communication about poverty reduction, helping people understand the meaning of the Party and State's programs and policies, proactively striving to escape poverty, and aiming for sustainable development.

Ms. Hoang Thi Hoa guides the villagers in finding information, models, and effective methods to escape poverty.

Ms. Ho Diu, a newly-escaped-from-poverty household in Trap hamlet, Tam Giang commune, confided: "Every month, we receive guidance and information from hamlet and commune officials on applying new techniques in farming, livestock breeding, and agricultural product processing; they point out good and reasonable models to apply to our cultivation."

Y Mom Mlô, another resident of Tam Giang commune, said that village and hamlet leaders, along with officials, regularly visit people's homes to disseminate the Party and State's policies and guidelines. During livestock training sessions, commune officials also guide poor households in accessing preferential loans for economic development and provide support for clean water for daily life. This is the easiest and most memorable form of communication for the people.

Ms. Hoang Thi Hoa, a specialist at the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Tam Giang commune, said: To effectively implement the National Target Program on sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development, in 2025 the commune strengthened the provision of information at the grassroots level, especially providing information to people living in areas with high poverty rates and ethnic minority areas about knowledge, skills, models, and experiences in labor, production, and business; and communicating to raise awareness and responsibility of the whole society and the poor regarding poverty reduction and ensuring sustainable social security. As a result, many households have boldly changed their production methods, applied scientific and technological advancements, expanded their scale, improved their income, and enhanced their quality of life.

By 2025, the poverty rate in the commune is estimated to be 20.01%, equivalent to 1,165 poor households. During the period 2025-2030, the People's Committee of Tam Giang commune aims to implement multidimensional poverty reduction, limit the recurrence of poverty, and prevent the emergence of new poverty through the synchronized implementation of solutions appropriate to the local reality.

According to Le Dinh Dong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Giang commune: To realize this goal, the locality is stepping up communication activities and mobilizing people to understand and effectively access poverty reduction and social security policies.

Village and hamlet leaders and influential individuals continue to play a pivotal role in disseminating effective poverty reduction models and exemplary cases of overcoming poverty, creating a widespread impact in the community and contributing to the achievement of sustainable poverty reduction goals.

Tam Giang commune will also support poor households to rise to a minimum living standard, fully access basic social services according to the national multidimensional poverty standard; effectively implement solutions to support the poor in using telecommunications services, the internet, and applying information technology so that people are more proactive in accessing policies, seeking support sources, and learning experiences and solutions to rise out of poverty.
