Online hemodiafiltration (HDF) is a modern blood filtration method that combines two mechanisms: hemodialysis and hemofiltration. While conventional dialysis primarily removes toxins with small molecular weights, online HDF is more effective at removing toxins with medium and large molecular weights – factors that cause many dangerous complications in patients with chronic kidney disease.
