According to information from local residents and authorities in Nhon Mai border commune, Nghe An province, at around 11:30 a.m. on July 22, a flash flood occurred at Hy stream, causing serious landslides on both banks of Nhon Mai residential area, Nhon Mai commune.
Floods swept away two houses in Nhon Mai village and one house in Huoi Xa village; five other houses are at high risk of landslides. The old headquarters of the Nhon Mai Commune People's Committee was flooded nearly 1 meter deep.

Upon receiving the information, Nhon Mai Border Guard Station immediately dispatched forces to coordinate with local authorities and on-site forces to organize the evacuation of assets and support people to safety.

It is still raining heavily, the water level of the stream continues to rise. Highway 16 through Nhon Mai commune has a landslide of about 50 meters, causing traffic to be completely paralyzed.
Not only in Nhon Mai commune, prolonged heavy rain also affected many other border communes such as Tam Thai, Na Ngoi, Tri Le. In particular, in My Ly commune, the Nam Non river water level rose about 3 meters, posing a risk of serious flooding and landslides.

Border Guard units, "4 on-site" forces, along with officials and people of communes and villages, are mobilizing forces to support the evacuation of people, inspect vulnerable areas and are ready to deploy response plans to complex flood developments.
