(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Due to the impact of storm No. 5, prolonged heavy rain caused landslides in many locations on National Highway 47 through Yen Nhan commune, Thanh Hoa province, with large amounts of rocks and soil spilling onto the road, making traffic difficult and posing a potential danger to road users.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thai Quang Hoang, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department, and leaders of the Department of Construction directed the work to overcome the landslide, determined to clear National Highway 47 as soon as possible.

According to preliminary statistics, there are 11 serious landslides on National Highway 47 in Lua village, Chieng village, and Na Nghiu village of Yen Nhan commune, causing traffic disruption.

Faced with the above situation, the Traffic Police and Yen Nhan Commune Police have increased their staff and soldiers, set up permanent working groups and posts, and set up posts at landslide and landslide-prone areas to warn, direct traffic, and guide people to participate in traffic safely.

On the afternoon of August 27, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thai Quang Hoang, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department, along with functional departments of the Provincial Police Department, were present at a number of serious landslides on National Highway 47 to directly direct the Traffic Police, Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police, and Yen Nhan Commune Police to deploy plans to ensure security, order, traffic safety, and rescue. At the same time, closely coordinate with road management units to mobilize human resources, machinery, and equipment to urgently clear landslides, repair damaged areas, and ensure smooth traffic to transport relief goods to the people.

With a sense of responsibility and urgency, by 7:00 a.m. on August 28, the units had cleared the route at 5 points at Km111+500, the section through Lua village and Km113+500; Km113+550; Km113+600, the section through Chieng village, Yen Nhan commune.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Cuong, Captain of the Ho Chi Minh Road Traffic Police Team, Traffic Police Department, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said: When floods occur, the Traffic Police force is divided into teams to inspect, review, update, and report on the damage situation on the routes and areas managed by the unit to promptly place warning signs and barriers at landslides, sinkholes, and deeply flooded roads... and immediately deploy measures to ensure traffic order and safety. Coordinate with local authorities and the Commune Police force to organize propaganda, arrange guards, guide traffic... to ensure the safety of people and vehicles traveling on the route. Therefore, in addition to the overflow and landslide locations that are locally blocked; landslides and damage locations on national highways and provincial roads have been handled to ensure smooth and safe traffic up to this point.
