Regarding the incident in which a 6th grade student in Bac Giang was beaten by a classmate right at school, on April 25, Mr. Hoang Ba Hanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Luc Nam district (Bac Giang) said that the incident at Doi Ngo No. 1 Middle School was due to a personal conflict.

Accordingly, at around 11:30 a.m. on April 22, after the end of the morning class, in the hallway at the end of the multi-purpose building, Nguyen Duy L. (class 6A) was beaten and punched continuously by two students, Pham Tung D. (class 7A7) and Duong Gia B. (class 7A6).

What is more reprehensible is that while beating his friend, student B. asked a classmate to record a video with his phone. The video was then sent to several other students and spread on social media.

Ms. Bui Thi Nga, Principal of Doi Ngo Town Secondary School No. 1, said that the initial cause was determined to be that Nguyen Duy L. intended to buy an electric bike from Duong Gia B. and agreed that he would buy it if the bike was maintained. However, L. did not buy the bike later, so B. demanded money for maintenance. When L. did not have money to pay, he was beaten by two 7th grade students at school.

Immediately after the incident, Doi Ngo Town Secondary School No. 1 asked the 3 students to write a report. At the same time, the school worked with the parents to discuss the incident; reported to the authorities and coordinated with the local government and Doi Ngo Town Police to verify and clarify the incident.

At the police station, two 7th grade students admitted that beating their friend was wrong and promised not to repeat the offense.

Currently, Nguyen Duy L. is in good health, mentally stable and has returned to normal study. The parents of the two 7th grade students have pledged to regularlyeducate and discipline their children so that similar behavior does not recur. The school and the Doi Ngo Town Police continue to coordinate to resolve the incident.
