To get the realistic car flipping scene, Ly Hai and his crew not only invested money but also had to put in a lot of effort. This process was even more difficult when the preparation time for the scene was only 2 days. Under the pressure of urgent time, the whole crew had to coordinate and work hard day and night.
Ly Hai "destroyed" the car to be able to mount the axle - hang the car in the air to rotate. The equipment used included Cooke Anamorphics SF FF+: 32,40,50,85 (Macro) 100, 135 with 6 lenses arranged to rotate throughout and 2 lenses to increase the overall capture of the scene and the actors' facial expressions. This equipment also helps create bokke eclipse blur, depth and light to bring quality images, suitable for the psychological, thriller genre of the film.
"To make the car spin in a circle, Ly Hai had to build a rotating shaft support and remove the entire interior of the car, attaching 2 shafts at both ends of the car. Only by hanging the car like that can we get the most "real" effect" - Ly Hai shared.
In addition to preparing the scene, Ly Hai paid much attention to the safety of the actors participating in the scene. He checked each step, the safety of the rotating shaft and the car before starting filming. At the same time, he also talked with actors Huy Khanh, Quoc Cuong and Diep Bao Ngoc before filming.

All three actors were dizzy after turning the car around five times. Even long after filming ended, Huy Khanh still couldn’t get rid of the feeling of ringing in his ears and dizziness. As for Diep Bao Ngoc, the actress didn’t hesitate to get up at 5am to mentally prepare for the scene.
"I have worked with Ly Hai for more than ten years but have never ceased to be surprised by his ideas. Every part of "Lat mat" marks a big investment, big spending and newness. This time, I believe Ly Hai's investment and ideas will bring visual effects and very satisfying scenes to the audience" - stuntman and director Quoc Thinh shared about the car crash scene.
