According to a special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, in his speech, the National Assembly Chairman said that the world is experiencing unprecedented changes. Armed conflicts, geopolitical competition, climate change, trade wars, economic inequality and humanitarian crises are seriously threatening global peace and stability.

Believing that these challenges do not distinguish between national borders, rich or poor, skin color, or religion, and require everyone to work together, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that, more than ever, representing the voice of the people, parliaments have the responsibility to take the lead in promoting multilateralism, contributing to ensuring peace, fairness, and prosperity for all people.

According to the National Assembly Chairman, parliamentary cooperation is not just about sharing legislative experience or passing resolutions. It is also a commitment to turning words into actions, turning ideas into reality and turning hope into real opportunities for billions of people around the world.

“We, the representatives of the people's will and aspirations, must ensure that policies and laws are built on core values: peace, justice and equality,” the National Assembly Chairman pointed out.

To achieve these goals, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man proposed a number of orientations for parliamentary cooperation in the coming time.

Accordingly, strengthen dialogue and build trust. Parliaments need to maintain regular forums to discuss global issues, from regional conflicts to cross-border challenges. Dialogue instead of confrontation - that is the only way to build trust and a spirit of mutually beneficial cooperation between nations and peoples. Along with promoting justice and equality, it is necessary to prioritize policies to protect human rights, reduce inequality and ensure that no one is left behind. Parliaments need to strengthen their oversight role to ensure that governments fulfill their commitments to social justice.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also stressed the need for action for the environment and sustainable development. Climate change is an existential threat to the planet. Parliaments must take the lead in passing laws that promote environmental protection, biodiversity and support communities vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

Referring to the enhancement of international inter-parliamentary cooperation, the National Assembly Chairman affirmed that parliaments are not only legislative bodies but also bridges between nations. By promoting parliamentary diplomacy, we can build a common denominator of interests between nations and peoples, contributing to shaping effective and feasible solutions to global issues.

The National Assembly Chairman said that as an active member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Vietnamese National Assembly is always strongly committed to multilateralism and parliamentary cooperation; believing that peace, justice and prosperity can only be achieved when all countries, big or small, respect international law, cooperate equally and put the interests of the people at the center.

Before concluding his speech, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his unwavering belief in the power of international solidarity, multilateralism and international law. "Putting the interests of the people first, we will certainly overcome all challenges. Let this Conference be an important milestone, marking the beginning of a stronger commitment to cooperation and action, for a better world for future generations," said the National Assembly Chairman.
