An Giang must concentrate all its efforts to achieve its growth target.

On November 9, in Oc Eo commune, An Giang province, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and the Government delegation worked with the Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee on the socio-economic situation, national defense and security in 2025 and the implementation of the 2-level local government model.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son acknowledged and commended the efforts of the Provincial Party Committee, authorities at all levels and people of An Giang in recent times. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that An Giang needs to focus all its efforts in the last two months of the year to achieve the target of GRDP growth of over 8% in 2025. The agricultural and fishery sectors must maintain a high growth rate, as this is the "economic pillar" of the province. In addition to developing industry and trade, An Giang needs to continue to promote its advantages in tourism, especially attracting international visitors through expanding services, taking advantage of An Giang's scenic spots and border gates with Cambodia.

The disbursement of public investment capital is considered a decisive factor in increasing the province's GRDP growth rate. The Deputy Prime Minister requested the province to focus on directing to complete the disbursement target in 2025; continue to develop projects and include them in the public investment project for the period 2026 - 2030. The province needs to build and form a closed value chain from production, processing to logistics, in order to expand and increase exports. Export activities must be linked with neighboring countries, especially Cambodia.

The province urgently studies and prepares to implement the process and procedures for adjusting the planning of the new An Giang province; strives to build the locality into a dynamic, comprehensive, and sustainable development center of the Mekong Delta. The province needs to play a strategic role in connecting the East and the West (sea with border, urban with rural areas, services with production, tourism ). In particular, An Giang must aim to become a national marine economic center, in which the Long Xuyen Quadrangle is the driving force for the development of the logistics and cultural industries.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son requested the province to continue directing the operation of the two-level local government, ensuring smoothness, efficiency, no interruptions, and no impact on the operations of agencies, people and businesses. An Giang has taken the lead in implementing digitalization and processing data records. The province needs to continue promoting this government system and accelerate the processing of level 4 fully online public services. An Giang has done very well in national defense and security work. In the coming time, the province will continue to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation with border provinces.

Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province Ho Van Mung informed that the province's socio-economic situation in the first 9 months of 2025 was stable and achieved a good growth rate, with an estimated growth rate of 7.85%; the industrial development index increased by 14.32% over the same period. Regarding the disbursement of public investment capital, as of September 30, the province had disbursed 40.86% of the capital plan assigned by the Prime Minister and 32.52% of the capital plan assigned by the Provincial People's Council. As of September 9, An Giang had integrated 1,944 public services (accounting for 91.57%) into the National Public Service Portal; the rate of handling records before the deadline and on time reached 94.87%.

Regarding the implementation of key projects serving APEC 2027, up to now, the Phu Quoc International Airport and APEC Conference Center projects have basically ensured progress. The province has proactively invited the State Audit to participate in reviewing the processes and procedures in the implementation of projects serving the APEC Conference.

Public investment projects serving APEC have been allocated capital for implementation with a total capital plan for 2025 of more than VND 4,216 billion/9 projects. The province has organized the groundbreaking and launch of 10 projects serving the APEC Conference 2027, disbursing over VND 558 billion, reaching 13.24% of the plan. There are 2 projects under construction, the project of undergrounding technical infrastructure in An Thoi area and undergrounding technical infrastructure in Duong Dong area, with disbursement reaching more than 61%...

In the first 9 months of 2025, An Giang achieved positive economic growth with a strong breakthrough in the service and industrial sectors, completing the key task of arranging provincial administrative units. However, the province needs to continue to resolve bottlenecks in public investment disbursement and strengthen production linkages to promote rapid and sustainable growth.
