Vietnam - Laos armies strengthen exchanges in propaganda work

According to VNA correspondent in Laos, on the afternoon of November 10, in the capital Vientiane, the delegation of the Department of Propaganda and Training (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army) led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc - Director - had talks with the Department of Propaganda and Training (General Department of Politics of the Lao People's Army) led by Major General Keosouvanh Phangphilavong - Director -.

At the meeting, the two sides informed each other about some outstanding situations in recent times, and highly appreciated the results of close coordination and effective implementation of the annual cooperation plan between the two units.

On behalf of the Propaganda Department of the Vietnam People's Army, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc expressed his sincere thanks to the Lao Propaganda Department for the warm and thoughtful reception for the delegation; and emphasized the practical results in the coordination between the two Propaganda Departments, especially after recent visits and working sessions.

The two sides have closely coordinated and effectively implemented the contents of the defense cooperation plan between the two countries, especially the implementation of the Agreements and Protocols on Vietnam-Laos defense cooperation for the 2025-2029 period; focusing on promoting propaganda work, foreign information, friendly exchanges and key defense cooperation activities.

The two sides directed the strong propaganda of cooperation activities between the two armies, especially in the fields of culture, information, and foreign propaganda; the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition; the second Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange; the official visit to Laos by General and Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang; the annual meeting between the three Defense Ministers and the joint search and rescue exercise between the armies of the three countries Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia in 2025.

The two sides have also done a good job of propagating and educating about the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and two Armies of Vietnam and Laos in the new situation; promptly informing about the activities of the leaders of the two Ministries of National Defense, the General Department of Politics, especially the official visits of the Director of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People's Army and the Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army in 2024 - 2025.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese side expressed its gratitude to the Lao Ministry of National Defense for sending forces to participate in the parade and march at the Rally to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on September 2.

Regarding the direction of cooperation in the coming time, on the basis of sincere and open exchange and sharing of experiences, the two sides agreed to continue to strengthen and promote propaganda work in depth and substance, contributing to consolidating and promoting the loyal, pure and special relationship between the two Propaganda Departments in particular and between Vietnam and Laos in general.

The two sides also agreed to continue exchanging and sharing experiences in the following areas: propaganda, agitation, reporter work; social sciences and humanities; emulation and rewards; news agencies and press; culture and arts; and publishing management, printing and film distribution.
