Here, 80 years ago, the Ministry of Agriculture, the predecessor of today's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, was established, marking a milestone in the history of the Vietnamese revolution, opening the journey of building a self-reliant agriculture, for the people and for the country.
Continuing the glorious tradition
In the sacred atmosphere, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep and the delegation offered incense to commemorate and pay respect to the ancestors who laid the foundation for the cause of Agriculture and Environment in Vietnam.

Over the past 80 years, regardless of the stage, agriculture and the environment have remained the pillars of the economy , the livelihood launching pad for tens of millions of farmers, and the solid wall ensuring national food security.
From a country that suffered from famine during the lean season, Vietnam has now risen to become an agricultural export powerhouse, with more than 7 million tons of rice per year, and hundreds of agricultural, forestry and fishery products present in more than 200 countries and territories.
Those telling numbers are proof of a resilient, creative, and persistent journey of generations of cadres, farmers, and those working in Agriculture and Environment today.
The year 2025 will be even more meaningful when the sector completes its functions and tasks, unifies the management of agricultural development associated with new rural construction, environmental protection and sustainable development. This is not only a continuation of tradition, but also an affirmation of strategic vision in the new era.
80, the number of faith and aspiration
80 years of tradition are extended with meaningful activities: admitting 80 new party members, giving 80 bicycles to poor students who overcome difficulties...
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep affirmed: The National Historical Relic of the Ministry of Agriculture is the origin and spiritual support of the Vietnamese Agriculture and Environment sector in the journey of modern and sustainable development.

To stand in the ranks of the Party at the place where history began is a great and sacred honor. Every young Party member today not only carries pride, but also bears the responsibility of following in the footsteps of their predecessors, striving to train and keep their oath of loyalty to the Party and the people.
The Deputy Minister emphasized President Ho Chi Minh's teachings: Each party member is both a leader and a loyal servant of the people, and at the same time advised the young generation to remember the five duties of a party member, to be steadfast in ideals throughout life, to train their ideology, to be attached to the people, to absolutely comply with the Party's guidelines, to constantly study and self-criticize to mature.
As one of 80 outstanding members honored to join the Party right at the Ministry of Agriculture Relic Site, young party member Tran Le Ngoc Tran, Southern Environmental Monitoring Center, Department of Environment, emotionally shared that this is a great pride, a sacred milestone in the journey of striving and training of herself and 79 other new party members.

In the sacred space imbued with the tradition of the Agriculture and Environment sector, Tran expressed her determination to continuously study, improve her expertise, train her political mettle, and cultivate revolutionary ethics, to be worthy of the trust and expectations that the Party and the organization have placed in her; at the same time, contributing to spreading the spirit of dedication and the aspiration to build of today's young generation.
Not only few poor households but also many rich households
Thai Binh commune is the merger of three communes Thai Binh, Phu Thinh, Tien Bo, this land is striving on the path of socio-economic development, focusing on sustainable agriculture and forestry.
Currently, the commune has more than 8,100 hectares of forestry land, forest cover reaches over 60%, over 2,300 hectares of forest are FSC certified; tea area 240 hectares, longan 160 hectares, grapefruit 21 hectares, total livestock herd over 6,300... Average income reaches 60 million VND/person/year, poverty rate reduced to 4.5%.
However, as Vice Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Gia Long shared, Thai Binh still needs a bigger push to break through, especially applying science and technology to agriculture, forming large-scale, branded commodity production areas. He hopes that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will continue to accompany and support the locality to develop quickly and sustainably.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep acknowledged the efforts of the commune government and people, and emphasized that Thai Binh needs not only a few poor households but also many rich households. To do so, there must be commodity products, raw material areas, processing, and brands.
He said the Ministry will support the construction of raw material areas, the application of science and technology, the development of small-scale processing, and the building of brands for key products, while supporting investment in a traffic bridge in Hoac village, which is associated with the relic of the Ministry of Agriculture.
In the series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary, Agriculture and Environment Newspaper in collaboration with sponsors (T&T Group, SHP Bank, VINRGOUP Group) presented 10 Great Solidarity houses worth 600 million VND to poor households, and 80 bicycles to poor but studious students; Agriculture General Hospital organized free medical examinations and treatment for people. These practical actions contributed to spreading the spirit of "remembering the source of drinking water" in the heart of the revolutionary homeland.
Eighty years, a glorious journey, a journey of intelligence, of labor and of aspiration to build the country. The working group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment returned to Thai Binh commune today not only to find the relics but also to add strength for today and tomorrow. So that the flame of tradition will always burn brightly in every step of the modern, green, sustainable and humane Vietnamese Agriculture and Environment.
