Joy of the new school at the "fence" of the Fatherland
The project, invested by the Son La Provincial Police, is one of 13 inter-level schools deployed in Son La according to the Conclusion Notice No. 81-KL/TW of the Politburo on the policy of building schools in border communes. The groundbreaking of the project demonstrates the deep concern of the Party and State for compatriots, soldiers, especially students in border areas, which are considered the "fence" of the Fatherland. At the same time, it aims to ensure fairness in access to education, narrow regional disparities, improve social security and strengthen national defense and security in border areas.
According to the design, Long Sap Commune Primary and Secondary Boarding School is invested in a modern and synchronous manner on an area of nearly 5 hectares, including: classrooms, subject classrooms, library, principal's house; student dormitory, teachers' house; kitchen, multi-purpose house, swimming pool, sports field system... Scale of 30 classrooms, meeting the learning needs of more than 1,000 students; expected to be completed and put into use from the 2026-2027 school year.

New impetus for border education
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, affirmed that the school that was started in Long Sap commune today is a concrete step to realize the aspiration to improve people's knowledge, train human resources, foster talents, and build a fair, comprehensive, and modern education system.
The Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions requested the Party Committees and authorities at all levels of Son La province to take strong action, considering this an important political task, proactively and closely coordinating to create all favorable conditions for site clearance, land allocation, and support construction units to ensure progress, quality and absolute safety during the implementation process. Design, construction and supervision units must do their best with all their enthusiasm, responsibility and professional ethics, so that the school becomes a symbol of a new, modern, safe, friendly school, worthy of the expectations of the Party, the State and ethnic minorities in the border highlands.

On behalf of Son La province, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his deep gratitude to the Party and State for always paying attention to directing and creating favorable conditions for the school project to be implemented soon. At the same time, he affirmed that he will continue to direct departments, branches and units to closely coordinate and promptly resolve issues arising during the construction process; the education and training sector of the province will prepare staff, teachers and teaching programs so that when the project is completed, it will be put into effective and sustainable operation, truly becoming a school of knowledge, a place to foster the aspirations of ethnic minority children in the border areas of the Fatherland.

The groundbreaking ceremony in Long Sap commune, connecting with other schools across the country today, has brought great joy to the people, teachers and students in the border area. The new school is expected to become a fulcrum for nurturing knowledge, improving the quality of education in the border area and contributing to the sustainable development of the country.
Long Sap commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Long Sap and Chieng Khua communes. After the merger, the commune has a natural area of more than 211 km2 and a population of more than 9,600 people.
