The project aims to connect local products with consumer markets, while creating a sustainable fund to support meals, scholarships and livelihoods for children and the poor in mountainous areas through the Vietnam Food Bank Network.

Ms. Cam Thi Chuyen, President of the Red Cross Society of Son La province, said that the highland provinces have many valuable products such as Shan Tuyet tea, wild honey, dried bamboo shoots, cardamom, brocade, etc. However, market access is still facing many difficulties. The project "Highland Specialties" contributes to identifying local products by quality, told through cultural stories and spread by human love.
“When a portion of the revenue from this project is returned to support the community, this is a humane and sustainable way of doing things, in line with the spirit of mutual love of the Vietnamese people,” Ms. Cam Thi Chuyen shared.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khoi, Chairman of the Vietnam Food Bank Network, the project applies e-commerce and digital transformation in developing local products. The products are carefully selected from typical mountainous regions across the country, carrying the cultural and spiritual stories of ethnic minorities such as Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Ha Giang , Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong... with products such as Shan Tuyet tea, Seng Cu rice, wild honey, smoked buffalo meat, corn wine, coffee, pepper, macadamia, brocade, lingzhi mushrooms, cinnamon - star anise - lemongrass essential oils and other typical products.
“Not only does it have culinary value, 'Highland specialties' also honor traditional crafts such as brocade weaving, bamboo and rattan weaving, making ethnic silver jewelry, herbal tea, etc. Each product is a cultural story and national pride,” Mr. Khoi shared.
Accordingly, the e-commerce platform www.dacsanvungcao.vn will officially operate at the end of 2025 with 4 main product groups: Culinary specialties (meat, bamboo shoots, wine, spices, dried agricultural products); clean highland agricultural products (tea, honey, cereals, herbs); indigenous handicrafts and culture (brocade, rattan, jewelry) and provincial specialties.
Each order will donate 5 - 10% of revenue to the program "Meals for children in mountainous areas" to create a fund to nurture and sustainably develop community activities.
