The 500 billion VND revenue of the movie Mai was updated by Box Office Vietnam on the afternoon of March 1.

Usually, Mai's distributor, producer and director Tran Thanh often announce revenue milestones a few hours later than Box Office Vietnam.

Previously, a representative of Box Office Vietnam also shared with Tuoi Tre Online that the revenue of the film Mai on this platform could be 5% higher than the actual.

The reason is that Box Office Vietnam displays revenue before VAT, including pre-booked tickets and not taking into account discounted and promotional tickets.

It is expected that the producer will soon announce that Mai has reached the 500 billion mark today or tomorrow morning (March 2).

Accordingly, the film achieved this great achievement after only 21 or 22 days of showing, an impressive speed, while Mrs. Nu's House needed nearly 3 months to reach 475 billion VND.

Initially, Mai was predicted to have difficulty surpassing the revenue of Mrs. Nu's House because it is a romance film, unlike Mrs. Nu's House which is a family film aimed at a wider audience.

Mai's content also tends towards tragedy and is rated 18+.

Despite its high revenue, there have been mixed opinions about the film's revenue recently when the public discovered that many viewers under 18 years old still successfully bought tickets to see the movie Mai .

On online forums, many underage viewers also innocently boasted that they had watched the movie Mai.

As a result, the glory of the film was somewhat affected. After the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism directed an inspection and review of this matter, 4 cinemas in Ho Chi Minh City were found to have violated the law and will be fined in the near future.
