Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has announced that MU has completed the deal for Matheus Cunha from Wolves. All parties have reached a verbal agreement and the official contract is expected to be completed in the next few days.

MU paid Wolves a transfer fee of £62.5 million, paid in installments. Matheus Cunha will sign a 5-year contract with the Red Devils , until June 2030, with an option to extend until 2031.
Matheus Cunha had a successful 2024/25 Premier League season with Wolves, scoring 15 goals and providing 6 assists in 33 games.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Cunha will most likely wear the number 10 shirt at MU, the number belonging to Marcus Rashford but the English striker is on his way out of Old Trafford after half a season playing for Aston Villa on loan.
Ruben Amorim appreciates Matheus Cunha for his adaptability, flexibility, intelligent playing style and extremely decisiveness in the final third of the field of the Brazilian star.
The 25-year-old striker's potential is said to be perfectly suited to the Portuguese captain's preferred 3-4-2-1 formation.
The Red Devils have just had a terrible season, finishing 15th in the Premier League, missing out on the chance to play in the Champions League next season after losing 0-1 to Tottenham in the Europa League final, a tournament in which they were unbeaten throughout the campaign until the day of the title match.
