Amidst the smoke and fire or in the storm, when people's lives are threatened, firefighters do not fear danger and rush to save people. This is not only a duty but also an "order from the heart", an honor, a sacred ideal. Formerly the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Team of Hon Gai Town Police, up to now, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Force of Quang Ninh Provincial Police has increasingly matured, modernized, professionalized, protecting the safety of people's lives and property.

In mid-December 2024, at Cai Lan Industrial Park, a large fire completely burned down the second floor of the ^1,300m2 factory (lighter assembly workshop, specializing in export) of Van Luc Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd. Thanks to the timely presence and correct assessment of the situation by the fire fighting force, the fire did not spread to the first floor, where the gas system, an essential fuel in the production of lighters, was stored, minimizing damage to the business and ensuring the safety of hundreds of workers on the production shift.

The lighter factory of Van Luc Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd. resumed operations five months after the fire.

Ms. Do Thi Loan, Head of Administration - Human Resources Department (Van Luc Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd.), said: Last year's fire, thanks to the timely presence of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force, they quickly contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to the first floor and other surrounding factories. The factory only caught fire on the second floor. At that time, black smoke billowed, water was sprayed at the same time but the fire was still burning fiercely, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police officers still ignored the danger, quickly controlled and completely extinguished the fire. 5 months later, the Company invested tens of billions of VND to rebuild a new factory, installing a fire prevention and rescue system according to standards. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Provincial Police) and related departments and branches have supported us a lot in completing the procedures and documents so that the factory can soon go into production.

With the motto "ready to fight, act decisively, highly effective", the officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department have not feared danger, overcome difficulties, and are always the pioneering force on the front line, promptly present in all situations of fire, explosion, natural disasters, and accidents occurring in the area. From the beginning of 2025 up to now, the unit has mobilized 75 vehicles, 446 officers and soldiers to participate in fire fighting, search and rescue and coordinate to overcome the consequences caused by natural disasters, contributing to saving hundreds of lives and protecting tens of billions of dong in assets for the people. "We always determine that, no matter the time, day or night, as long as people need us, we will go. That is an order from the heart, from the honor of a firefighter" - Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huy Nghi, Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, shared.

The unit has sponsored 3 children and supported 1 elderly person in difficult circumstances, contributing to strengthening the close relationship between the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force and the people.

From the early days of establishment with many difficulties, the predecessor was the Fire Prevention and Fighting Team of Hon Gai Town Police, the unit was honored to be awarded the Second Class Military Exploit Medal by President Ho Chi Minh in 1966, the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in 1967. The Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Force of the Provincial Police continued to write golden pages of history with the courage, dedication and steel will of a fighting unit.

Over the past 5 years, the unit has had 55 collectives and 154 individuals awarded at all levels, including 1 Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister, 17 Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Public Security , and 19 Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department has been awarded the title "Victory Unit" by the Provincial Police Director for 2 consecutive years (2021-2022); for 2 consecutive years (2023, 2024), the Ministry of Public Security has awarded the Emulation Flag for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "For National Security", affirming the prestige and position of one of the leading units.

Through many stages of development, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force of the Provincial Police continues to improve its organization, human resources, and technical equipment in a standardized, elite, and modern direction, effectively meeting the requirements of fire prevention and rescue tasks in the digital age. The unit focuses on doing well the logistics work, investing in modern equipment, improving working conditions, strictly maintaining the preservation and maintenance regime of fire fighting and rescue equipment; promptly detecting and proposing repairs and overcoming damages to fire trucks and fire fighting equipment to best serve the requirements of constant combat readiness.

The unit has deployed a series of creative, "highlight" and breakthrough propaganda models, such as organizing 114 fire alarm competitions, creating and broadcasting fire prevention and fighting propaganda clips at accommodation establishments suitable to the actual situation in the locality...; contributing to creating positive changes in the awareness and actions of all levels, sectors and people of all walks of life regarding fire prevention and fighting and rescue work.

The motto “prevention is better than cure” is also a safe support in propaganda, organizing drills and building a widespread fire prevention movement for the entire population. In recent years, the fire and explosion situation in the province has been basically controlled, the number of cases has decreased, and no major fires have occurred with particularly serious consequences.
