Messaging is playing an increasingly important role in business operations, with over a billion customers interacting with businesses weekly via chat platforms. With nearly 50% of consumers using social media to discover new products, Vietnam is one of the world’s leading countries in conversational business trends.
Specifically, on average, one in three Vietnamese consumers sends messages to businesses every week. With promising prospects from the Vietnamese market, at the Business Messaging Summit event held on June 13, Meta announced three new Conversation business solutions specifically for Vietnamese businesses.
In recent years, social media has witnessed remarkable growth and become one of the leading product discovery tools in Vietnam, with nearly 50% of consumers using these platforms to discover products and make purchases.
Notably, 45% of consumers message businesses directly to make purchases, and 62% interact with businesses monthly via messaging apps. 76% of Gen Z consumers actively use Conversational Business solutions, and this rate is even higher for Gen Y (86%) and Gen X (82%). Of these, Messenger is the most popular platform with a usage rate of up to 60%.
Meta is pushing AI applications.
According to a report conducted by Decision Lab and Meta, Facebook and Messenger have a significant influence in the digital consumption landscape in Vietnam, with 89% of social media users active on these platforms. In particular, 80% of Gen Z users regularly use Facebook and Messenger. As the most popular social networks in Vietnam, Facebook and Messenger are leading the digital transformation process by developing messaging as a core communication activity between consumers and businesses.
To help businesses in Vietnam make the most of their customer conversations, at the Business Messaging Summit, Meta introduced new messaging solutions for Messenger.
Specifically, businesses promoting products on Facebook Live will soon be able to use the livestream tool, helping viewers easily browse through introduced products and learn about the products via Messenger.
Facebook’s “boost” feature for live video streaming was expanded to more businesses earlier this year. With the launch of the livestream tool, Meta is giving advertisers a suite of solutions that help them create a seamless loop from discovery to conversion.
Meta combines discovery tools with commercial capabilities from Business Partners in Vietnam including Haravan, Nhanh.vn, Pancake and Sapo to provide a seamless experience from start to finish of business exchanges.
Businesses can sync their product catalogs on Facebook, allowing customers to explore and learn more, select their favorite products, and complete conversations with businesses, all within a chat interface.
Additionally, built on the latest large language model Llama, Meta is developing an AI engine that allows businesses to respond to customers seamlessly, thereby strengthening customer relationships without affecting business uptime.
