Mexican authorities said on December 1 that an armed attack occurred in the city of Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato state, central Mexico, killing eight people.

The incident occurred at 10:00 p.m. on November 30 (local time) when two men used guns to shoot at many people in the “Trébol de los Apaseos” business area and then fled the scene.
All of the victims killed were male, including two firefighters and a paramedic . The two injured were a man and a woman.
Immediately after the attack, authorities arrived at the scene, collected evidence and information to clarify the motive for the mass murder, and searched for the perpetrators.
The “Trébol de los Apaseos” business district is the domain of two drug trafficking gangs, the Santa Rosa de Lima and the Jalisco New Generation.
Governor of Guanajuato Libia Denisse García Munoz Ledo condemned the bloody acts of violence and pledged to track down the perpetrators.
On the same day, authorities in the southeastern Mexican state of Quintana Roo also said that six people were killed and three others were seriously injured in gun attacks that occurred due to clashes and disputes over the operating areas of several drug trafficking organizations in the famous tourist city of Cancun.
