Microsoft is working to improve battery life on Windows devices by developing a new feature called Adaptive Battery Saver Mode. Currently in beta on Windows 11, this feature is expected to improve the user experience compared to the traditional battery saving mode.

The biggest difference of Adaptive Battery Saver Mode is its ability to automatically adjust flexibly. Instead of only activating when the battery is depleted to a certain level like the old modes, this feature will analyze the device's workload to optimize battery usage time in real time.

A notable advantage is that Adaptive Battery Saver Mode does not interfere strongly with easily noticeable factors such as screen brightness or background task activity. Thanks to that, users almost do not feel the change when this mode is active.

With a smart approach and minimal impact on performance, Adaptive Battery Saver Mode promises to be a big step forward in extending battery life while ensuring a smooth experience for Windows users.

Microsoft is testing a new feature to improve battery life for Windows laptops, called Adaptive Battery Saver Mode. Unlike traditional battery saving modes that drastically reduce performance, the new feature allows for extended usage time without significantly affecting the user experience.

Normally, battery saver mode will reduce screen brightness by about 30%, turn off transparency effects and stop some background applications such as OneDrive or OneNote. Meanwhile, Adaptive Battery Saver Mode helps the device operate smoothly, maintaining performance and background applications are still maintained stable.

The highlight of this feature is the ability to automatically adjust based on the device's workload, instead of waiting for the battery to drop to a specific level before activating. Thanks to that, users do not feel interrupted or limited when using the laptop for a long time.

Currently, Adaptive Battery Saver Mode is being tested on Windows 11 Canary build 27898. Users who want to experience it first can register to join the Windows Insider program in the Canary channel to receive early updates.

If the testing process goes well, Microsoft will expand this feature to all Windows 11 devices, from laptops to tablets and handheld gaming devices. Users expect this to be a breakthrough solution that helps Windows compete more evenly with MacBooks in terms of battery life - a long-standing weakness of this operating system.
