Minh Hoa: Offering incense to celebrate the March Full Moon Festival

(QBĐT) - On the morning of April 11, Minh Hoa district held an incense offering ceremony to welcome the Full Moon Festival in March. This is an important ceremony maintained with traditional procedures of Minh Hoa people. Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Luong Binh, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; leaders of Minh Hoa district and many people and tourists from all over.

Incense offering ceremony at But waterfall temple, Yen Hoa commune (Minh Hoa).

As usual, the incense offering ceremony is held at But waterfall (Put tieng nguon) in Yen Hoa commune, where the legend of the Full Moon of March originated from the Minh Hoa people. According to legend, Buddha is a talented and virtuous person who often transforms into a kind person to help good people in trouble and punish the greedy and cruel. Later, the local people set up an altar and every full moon and first day of the month organize cleaning and incense burning.

This year, Minh Hoa district did not organize cultural, artistic and sports activities, but the incense offering ceremony at But waterfall was still held according to traditional customs, from the ritual of offering petitions, praying for children to vegetarian offerings...

Comrade Nguyen Luong Binh, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Commission, offered incense at But Waterfall Temple.

After the incense offering ceremony, many people and tourists came to worship and pray for luck.

The incense offering ceremony at But waterfall is an opportunity to express the long-standing traditional spiritual and cultural values of the ethnic groups in Minh Hoa district.
